What is this - where did it come from?

The only place I have seen that piece in my car is under the rear seat and it holds the carpet flap at the front edge of the trunk. there is one on each side.

It's a Ford virus, antibiotics will not help. Just let it run its course and treat the symptoms with dosages of high RPM's.

Looked around in the car at lunch and still don't see anywhere it could have come from. I know at some point it will become apparent. I still will be asking dealer next week.
