I bought this car built and the last whipple I installed on my 2015 was quite a bit different. I’m assuming this was part of the whipple package. Can anyone confirm? It’s on the passenger side and looks like it ties into the fuel rail.
thanks.

Yeah details matter. Sorry about that
2019 PP. it does have a short block ford performance aluminator but don’t think this had anything to do with that.

Interesting. I thought they replaced the original one under the rear seat. Thanks for the info.
High pressure fuel pumps for DI systems are engine driven, usually off the camshaft.

yes, but that’s the low pressure pump 😉

Not the same. HPFPs supply high enough fuel pressure to overcome cylinder pressure for direct injection.

I know nothing about how any of that works with forced induction.

Hi Tim, The high pressure fuel pump delivers almost 3000 PSI. The injectors spray directly into the combustion chamber and have to overcome that pressure. Hence the "Direct Injection" label.
The pump under the rear seat is for the Port Injection system. These are the injectors found in the intake ports, or in your case, the blower housing. These injectors are what everyone sees and is used to, these are also the ones that get upgraded when you add boost.

our car shave 2 sets of 8 injectors.
16 injectors, 32 valves, 8 pistons, no wonder the motors are so loud :D

I appreciate the break down. I didn’t realize they added DI for the gen3 and this explains why I didn’t see this on my gen 2. Thank you.
