In the process of installing the BMR differential bushing lock out kit on my 2019 Bullitt I had to remove the part in the attached pics. The passenger side dif bolt ran through it, but it had to be removed for the install. No mention of it in the instructions. What it is it? Do I have to put it back on?

Looks like vibration dampener. Is the outer cast portion free floating? Or does it slide into anything on the subframe?

Guessing dampener though. Mass connected through rubber would act like a capacitor to buffer. A lot of cars have variations of this. Even on the exhaust pipes!

Maybe reach out to BMR. They will tell you to either use it or lose it.

Happy Holidays...............

The outer cast portion is free floating. I could move it around when it was installed.

Vibration dampener is a safe bet.

I would put it on the shelf somewhere.

Dampener then

Interesting Ford start adding this. I don't think my 2017 has it.

It won't fit with the diff lock out hardware? No harm in keeping it. Would be curious for you to try back to back with and without on the lock out kit. Might help the bmr pucks be more bearable as a good many mention they add healthy dose of nvh.

It may fit with the lockout, I didn't try. I paid extra for the upgraded bolts with the kit and they definitely wouldn't work, the damper adds about 2" of bolt length. I would have to use the longer stock bolt if the poly bushing will fit. I haven't driven the car yet and won't until Saturday. I want to change the oil before I take it off the jack stands. I installed the dif lockout kit, Steeda stop the hop kit and BMR vertical links. It was an asswhip and I'm glad to be done.

Keep us posted how those pucks do for you. I'm not in a rush to get them on yet but will soon enough

I don't think I'd bother then if you've got the upgraded hardware kit. Worst case if the nvh is high one bolt could be swapped back to stock to try out the dampener.

Enjoy the upgrades!

If I had it to do again I would not have paid the $49 for the bolt upgrade. All the upgrade bolts are allen head which is fine for the two rears, but there is not enough clearance on two of the front bolts to use a ratchet, only a wrench which requires a hex head. I didn't use the other two allen head bolts in the front either because the large allen socket I had was too long with the ratchet. Ended up using the hex head bolts that came with the kit.
