What is the difference between track mode and drag mode?

I read the only difference between sport and Sport+ is sport+ also changes it to sport steering...

so whats the difference between track and drag mode and how do they differ from sport and sport+?

Track mode will set the suspension to corner.

Drag mode will set it for weight transfer on launch.

Maybe in terms of how the throttle rolls on but no difference in max rpms? Probably pretty subtle I’d guess?

If you have an automatic, drag mode is much more violent on the shifts. So violent that you will lose control if you shift at high throttle input in a turn with advancetrac off. Track mode the shifts are smoother. Also difference in throttle ramp.

I got an a10.

So realistically would it make much difference in performance or 0-60?

I find these modes definitely shift hard, so hard I feel that it's bad for the tranny, but I feel like it's not really faster than if I just keep it in D and floor it all the same. Because when I floor it in D the engine revs up all the way and jumps to the best gear all the same, but the shift is much smoother

I‘ve never clocked the difference between the drive modes but I’m sure the 0-60 delta is measurable. It’s too brutal not to be. I personally love drag mode on my A10 but if you’re after smoothness you are correct in not fooling with it.

Im prob wrong here, but i have owned a few Mustangs and they have never been "smooth" its just not that type of car imo. For me, D is just not used, i usually put in S and S+ modes, im a bit addicted to the "pops". Again just my opinion. I have an a10 as well.

To elaborate on that, as I understand it, timing retard between shifts is either eliminated or greatly reduced which contributes to the more aggressive feeling shift and better ET's. I dont know if their is a corresponding increase in line pressure for gear changes.

The manual's explanation of the difference between the two (on non active exhaust and manual trans cars) seems to be only the traction control. In track mode "a performance oriented traction control mode" is enabled.

I've always wondered the difference between the two as well. I "believe" there is a different ABS strategy as well for track mode, can't say for sure....

I love S+ in traffic, jumping around cars, but if you are too aggressive it'll hang out at 5k rpm's too long lol. On the flip side Normals lugging is obnoxious at times. I also just pull the gear selector back to S when I need to make a quick move and then move it back to D swiftly.

Track mode turns off traction control (or puts it in a different setting) my traction control off light pops on when I move to track mode.

In drag mode traction control lights off lights do not turn on.

You are of course correct, which has always caused me to wonder “why”? Is TC really off or not?
