To the customer this is exactly what it is, having used both interfaces I can also say that under the hood PCMT is way more capable than what Cobb has.

its great and I'm very happy to see it on this platform.

You can have 4 fully customized tunes in the car at once and change them at any time using steering wheel cruise control buttons while driving.

Variable lauch rpm can be set in real time also.

Also included a launch map
Will you guys or another PCMTech provider be offering to 2015+ V6 3.7 Mustangs? :)

So I'm still trying here...so the PCMTech is just the tune itself? The software? An app/operating system? It still gets loaded on the car through an RTD type device?

Getting ready to install my Wengerd tune with just the RTD. I think I'm the type that just wants a good solid tune installed and I most likely wouldn't tinker with anything after that. Would the latest and greates even be for me?

unlikely.

Unlike State Farm, you're in good hands with Wengerd, regardless of the platform de jeur

PCMTEC is a company that makes Ford-specific tuning software. Tuners will use various pieces of software from various companies to spit out a tune file for you to load to your car, PCMTEC is one of those companies producing software.

In simple terms, it’s possible for software from one company, like PCMTEC, to spit out a file that works with another company’s, like HP Tuners, flashing device (depending on various factors).

PCMTEC also does have a custom operating system that can be applied to many modern Ford vehicles, but that only matters to you if you want the enhanced functionality that comes with that operating system. That enhanced functionality is the map switching, rolling rev limiter, flex fuel sensor support, among other things.

The different tuning softwares come with different functionality. Some of it only really matters to the tuner and is completely transparent to you, the end user, and some of it isn’t. The biggest thing you need to know is what user-facing functionality you want out of the tune and that will determine what software the tuner uses to build your file. If you want map switching and all that, then that’ll be a file developed by your tuner with PCMTEC software. If not, the file still may be developed in PCMTEC software, but without the custom operating system features applied, or it could be developed in HP Tuners or something else entirely.

Hope that helps clarify things.
