25, wanted a GT350 since I was 5. I work in IT as a Network Support Engineer. Found my second GT350 for $45k, $5000 down and $2000 of taxes. I am just around 60k a year. Not the best financial choice but it makes me happy. I have a $500 1987 BMW 325IS I can beat on and daily, even if I wanted to my GT350 has been with the shop a decent amount.

I have talked about a Shelby GT500 and then a GT350 for years, finally at 45 I was able to purchase one and not having it be my primary vehicle.

I dont have a GT350 but bought a 2019 GT Premium and this thread grabbed my attention. It seems like not many people really went into specifics about how they afford their cars.

I'm 25 my fiancée is 29. I work in IP Video Tech and she's a dental hygienist, our household income is ~200k so spending 42k on a car wasn't a huge issue.

The bigger discussion was that my fiancée couldn't fathom a car payment of 500 dollars for a weekend toy.

My argument was that I drive a beater to work every day so I can have a fun toy without sacrificing retirement contributions, other savings, vacations, etc.

After we sat down and ran the numbers, looked at our budget, and overall finances she felt more comfortable and was fine with it.
