thanks, did a detail cleaning yesterday and waxed, should have taken more pics. It is under the cover in the garage now awaiting better weather before it goes out again.

Hey guys; I had my car on a lift to do downpipe awhile back, I did an oil change beforehand and when it was on lift I noticed oil beaded up on oil filter

I thought it was maybe leaking, so I removed filter, inspected gasket and put it back on. I lost some oil. Not sure how much

So everyday Iā€™ve been adding like a little bit of oil. I was adding to fill to the top of hash marks completely cold.

So everyday I have inspected, this is a 4th of quart added over a week.

I have a hard time feeling like I lost half a quart of oil.

When I did oil change I did exactly 5.7 quarts (17 ecoboost)

Is the top of hash supposed to be touching or am I supposed to be in middle of the hash area cold?

The manual just says, if itā€™s below the bottom hole add lol.
Should I leave it as is?

Iā€™ve never removed an oil filter before before an change. I donā€™t think it was leaking, I think it was just residual oil from previous change on bottom of filter.

We took a road trip today... Buffalo, NY, a five hour drive. Camping out by the airport, was a beautiful day for a ride other than the relentless wind!

I also bought gas. Filled up with BP 93 for $3.00/gallon. Damn.
Same here. Filled up with 93 at the local Exxon. $3.299/gal, which was okay for where I live.

Later, I found the dipstick and checked the oil. The car has 472 miles on it, so the oil is still clean and kinda hard to see. šŸ˜Š

The dipstick is a bit of a hassle to put back, with the strut brace and all, but not as bad as I imagined.
