I run a 3.6 with no issues. Highly recommend recording logs the first few tanks and finding a gas station with good, consistent 93 (or best you can find near you). Can always run Torco or Boostane to be safe but you will run through plugs quicker than normal for peace of mind the octane is where...
Just installed the Paxton 2200 on my '16 with 3.73s this summer. Only supporting mods were suspension (BMR CB005 or Steeda STH kit). Went with ID 1050X injectors and Vortech BAP; still on OEM clutch. 5,500 miles on the set-up. Lund tune on 91/93.
It's a nice little set-up. Install could've been a bit 'cleaner' as some parts were either a very tight fit or the instructions weren't super clear. If you like the feeling of a big turbo hit, Centri is what you're looking for; if you like an instant smack, PD is the answer. I will say, I read...
@DRB I was at that event. Builds across all years and unique cars. Dyno set-up was a nice touch as well (I was one of the participants). Food was great and everyone I interacted with was very friendly; staff was fantastic as well! Venue was easy to navigate and if it wasn't for the heat...
Gotcha. Honestly, I doubt any of the known tuners are going to hand over an unlocked map. As he mentioned, those maps take time and R&D to create and no tuner is going to hand that over; is what it is and you can't fault them for that. That said, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to go right...
Quick question, why can't the 'tuner' on your end build a tune for your unicorn? You know, do his own work. Figure he has to have more experience with RHD cars anyways so why does he require anything from a States based company?
You realize this is like asking a chef for the recipe of their signature dish right? Those tunes are basically 90% finished then tweaked through 1-3 revisions. Why would they give that to you?
You can try reaching out to Lund again or wait for PBD to respond. Could also go with Wengerd Performance.
I thought the Paxton was more inline with the V7? You're right though - they are Vortech equivalents.
$6400 for the kit + tuning device and tune is a fantastic price. I paid $7200 for my Paxton set-up; including the tune and HPT device (already had a laptop). That said, the G2 is $4,900 roughly...
I got tuned by Lund two months ago; no issues. I believe they are in the middle of moving though. Probably have a lot going on so perhaps you misinterpreted your interaction with them?
Used the RTD with no issue. Literally click a button on a laptop to log. That's it. Really neat being able to...
*Your friend's tuner hinted that was likely the issue. Personally, if my tuner advises I need to make a change for the car to run correctly or efficiently, I'm all ears. Everyone here is just telling you to follow the advise of one of the better tuners for the S550 platform. If you think you and...
