Well, I broke my shift forks

Well, I have broken my shift forks for 3rd and 4th gear. I am tuned and exhaust only. Am I screwed for warranty? I think not due to it being transmission and the tune has nothing to do with it. Hopefully, I'm right What do you guys think?

Take it to your selling dealer they will fix it under warranty there is a Technical Service Bulletin for this very issue. What is your cars build date?

You're likely fine as those mods wouldnt impact the forks at all. Dealers will let you have a paid rental, unless you bought an extended warranty that includes a free loaner.

The TSB # is 18-2175 for the shift forks. The cars build date is located on the data tag to the right as you open the drivers door. They may offer a loaner car just ask them?

In that thread I had posted the actual TSB’s.

If you’re covered under warranty, it’s no cost to you. I haven’t seen any posts (yet) where someone has paid for or posted the out of pocket cost for repair.

I’d be shocked if they tried to deny your repair for this since it’s a known issue.

After going through blown synchro and broken shift forks I’ll tell you that don’t be shocked to be without your car for awhile as forks and transmissions are on national back order.

They ended up taking a trans off a new car and putting it in mine bc it was going to take so long to get a new one from Ford.

Great news. Dropped her off at the dealer with no issues. Got a new ecosport to drive in the meantime. They said up to two weeks for the repair to be finished. Not too shabby.

Fair warning, I was told the same.

My car has currently spent a combined 214 DAYS at the dealership, and is on it's THIRD Transmission.

First one they replaced the entire trans, Second they replaced the forks.

It could be a while without your car unfortunately.

Yea bro, I follow your videos and saw the painstaking process. I just hope they have I figured out. There is a thread that someone posted a picture of the differences of the two. I hope its not too long but I did ensure that I will have the rental until it was fixed. I actually stopped at another dealer and they told me that they could give me a rental for 4 days then the rest was on me. No thanks.

Well, great news. Car is ready for pick up ( actually, it was ready yesterday) now to just get home on Saturday to pick her up. Brand new transmission all covered under warranty. I'll post again once I get the car but my Ford dealer definitely took care of me

To my knowledge they needed up the forks after the tsb. At least I hope so.
