Pic looks like a weakness in the weld......who would even waste time on a mere marring. Be happy the 10,000 gal butane @ 250PSI tank trailer vessels on my units rolling beside you dont have weld seams like that haha.

Expext a wheel failure when hit a bump at 140mph .....but if your doddling about its not an issue .....

This is a perfect example of why to run from wheels or any aftermarket chassis parts that are not stamped with TUV or JAL reg numbers for that specific part#. They simply dont qualify.

Not a big deal when Boeings are falling apart mif flight and spontaniously combusting at anytime ...gotta love self certification haha.....we do!

Buy the VMS wheels! Oh wait, those are unobtainable now.

They have been on the list for a while now -VMS should have their 18x5 & 17x10 wheels (VWST014 & VWST013) landing in the next week or two.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I was originally told first week of July and now we’re going into the first week of August. Every time I call I’m told one more week.

Sounds like our standards are a bit different from each other. I like to have nice stuff and get what I pay for -especially on a big dollar build.

While it’s not a huge deal, as I will likely be the only one who will see it, it’s the point that counts. It’s sad that for just about the same price of one S71 Weld wheel, you can purchase four overseas made VMS wheels with visibly better quality control compared to the ones in question…

Would you have any further insight such as if you have seen this before? Structurally I think they are ok to run, but cosmetically, I’m not thrilled. A friend has some older ones on his foxbody and they are pristine. Maybe their standards or tooling have since changed? Weld wanting the wheels back for inspection tells me something is not kosher.

It's difficult to tell from your pictures, but weld would definitely want to lay eyes on them versus making an assumption from pictures. The fact that they want to see them is not an indication that there is an issue. Looks like the marring may have occurred when being removed from a fixture or from a polisher. I'd run it. In fact, send them to me and I will!
