Hi guys. I bought a 2017 V6 a little over a week ago and recently noticed an odd port in my driver's side footwell. I've googled it and searched forums for answers but still can't figure out what it is. I am attaching some pics of said port. Hopefully you guys can help me. Thanks.

Definitely not factory, something aftermarket. Have you tried pressing the button or crawling under to trace where the wires run to?

I'd trace the wires. Maybe even contact the seller / dealer you bought it from. It reminds me of the aftermarket "kill switches" I've seen on company cars. You had a small little module or "key" that plugged into a port so you could start / drive the car. When you left the car you took that it the car couldn't be started.

Just an update. I found out what it is. It's a deactivated karr security system. Apparently it's used as a key management system at dealership and then they try and sell it as a security system when customers buy it. I guess this was the $500 "security system" they tried to sell me. It sucks that they drilled two holes in my car and spliced up the factory wiring to install it. Next time I go in for service I'll try to convince them to uninstall it but we'll see.

what a load of shit. Unacceptalbe that they sell you a security system that doesn't work WITH holes drilled into your trim and spliced wiring. I'd demand a replacement trim but I doubt you'll get far. ;/

So I emailed the salesman who sold me the car. He fowarded my email to the general service manager and I was emailed back saying that they would remove the alarm system and replace the panel. I'm happy they didn't put up a fuss about it or just flat out refuse to fix the problem.
