B&O sound system, drivers side door speaker failure?

Hi guys,

2021 mustang GT w B&O sound system, drivers side door speaker failure. How much do these replacement speakers cost? I'd rather buy and swap it in myself than have to bring to dealer and deal w the wait, back order, scheduling replacement for a speaker.
I cranked up radio, not even that loud and heard the speaker pop and now its popping everytime. I thought this B&O was supposed to be premium sound system? Lol

Unfortunately they aren’t premium. If you’re going to go to the trouble of removing the door panel and speaker, I suggest upgrading them. I pulled mine shortly after getting my car and have been pleased with that ever since. I replaced mine with Herts DSK 165s which also came with tweeters thst fit behind the factory speaker grills in the A-pillars.

I also installed Dynamat sound deadener inside the door skins while the panels were off.

6.5”. I ordered mine from Crutchfield and they came with speaker adapter rings. Perfect fit. Let me see if ai can pull up the pics on them for you.

Nice! And the tweeters? Any bass blockers on them?

I was just bout to get some MPK 165 at twice the price so good to hear you like those.

The DSK 165s come with tweeters and their own passive crossovers, although I didnt use the crossovers because I’m running the AudioControl DM-608 Digital Sound Processor (my tweeters are running off of an AudioControl 4.300 four channel amp). I never hooked the 165s up to the aftermarket amp because I wanted to avoid cutting the factory wiring harness, in hopes that someone would manufacture a plug and play harness. The 165s sound so good on the B&O amp that there really is no rush to run them off of rhe aftermarket amp.

Oh yeah I recall that NOS to cool the amps haha....I'm just wondering what to do with vert 9 speaker, cheaply....

The easiest way to integrate everything is to get a PAC Audio AmpPro fd-21 interface and use RCA cables to feed the speaker signals back to your amp.

I’d do the DSK 165s in the doors (leave them on the B&O amp) install the supplied tweets in the A-pillars and run them on an aftermarket amp along with rear replacement speakers (check Crutchfield to see if the DSK 165s will fit in the rear speaker locations). Lastly, I don’t know how much room is in a convertible,trunk, but maybe consider something like the subwoofer below. if you do this, try and find a way to port the sound from your trunk into the cabin, so that it isn’t confined to thr trunk.
