Sad to say everyone has there favorite years Mustang, and there is a lot of S197 Mustangs folks that think Ford ruined the Mustang, with the Euro look, the IRS and the 4 Banger Eco Boost,so they just choose to ignore something they don"t like,so that is one of the reasons there is no thumbs up ,wave,or glance over at the stop light,it"s no big deal,it"s just human nature.

Saw a nicely restored red classic today, coming from the opposite direction at a slow speed...I smiled and waved...absolutely nothing. No way did he miss me or was he going too fast to respond.
Oh well. I tried.

I passed a black 2015 on a 2 lane 30 mph road today going opposite directions. I waved - he didn't. I have no idea whether he even saw me or not. His wasn't a GT. Either distracted or jealous?

Our cars look good on the road!

Very few Mustang drivers wave at me down here in Houston...

But...my wife claims when she's driving her vintage GT 350 on the weekends...she gets lot of waves from other Mustang drivers...Hummm....maybe she's just exaggerating a bit?? LOL

I'll wave when she drives too... only because it's a Mustang.

Happened again tonight after the gym. Driving and saw a non-15 Mustang. I passed him, but he didn't see me. I looked but he didn't notice. Then he sped up, I caught him looking and the moment he saw that I looked, he looked away.

I guess I will resign to the fact that this is a common behavior for non-15 drivers. From what I am reading on this thread, other 15 drivers will acknowledge each other. And other non-Mustang drivers will wave. More often than not, however, non-15 drivers will purposely ignore you.

Still find that behavior odd. But hey, as they say, it is what it is.

Count me in as one that doesn't wave or acknowledge the existence of other models of any year (most especially the disgusting 2014 and under). We happen to have the same car, that doesn't make us friends, pals, family, nada. So, Im like go about your day and find someone who's actually happy and enthusiastic to be behind the wheel of this thing, but don't expect friendliness from me.

I dunno, markology. It's been my experience that things are different when you're on the road versus when you're parked. When I'm parked, I get much love. In the last month I've chatted with more modern performance car owners than ever in my life. Example, co-worker drives a Porsche that I drool over...never spoke before the day he comes by to tell me how much he loves Mustang. Now we're parking lot pals - because we know we won't ding each others doors. Second love is from Muscle Car People in general. Worked with a chick who daily drives a '77 Camaro - we've had the Mustang talk. Other Mustang owners show love too. I've deliberately started parking next to other Mustangs if convenient, but I won't go out of my way to do it.

On the road it's a different story. Other late model Mustangs? We get along just fine. Camaros and Challengers? No love but no hate either. Other 2015 Mustangs? Now we're talking Stonewall Jackson, baby. The only other 2015 owner to show love was another GT. Everyone else is either A. Oblivious (most cases) or B. Jelly (and I don't know why, we're Mustang brothers - relax!). It's mostly obliviousness, though. I just think most folks in the entry level cars see it as transportation, not the common machine we passionately see them as...but yeah, a little jelly too.

After I've been riding my motorcycle for a bit I find myself wanting to wave at other motorcyclists when I'm driving a car. And if I'm not in the mustang at other mustangs. I have to catch myself since I'm sure they'd have no idea what I was waving about.

Thanks for the insight. So, are you not happy and enthusiastic to be driving your Stang? :D

Have not packed next to or close to any Stangs yet. But I have with other Challengers. Mostly, they look at me with envy or some kind of fear. Don't know why, as I'm sure they will beat me in any race. (fyi, I don't race or will ever think to. So, if they challenge me in a race, I will just let them win.)

I don't mind the obliviousness. What I don't understand is making an effort to ignore. My Shelby example is paradigmatic. They had a chance to catch up to me and pass me (I was driving 25 on a 35 zone). I hit a red light, the driver slows down instead of approaching the red. The light turns green and the driver still drives at a snail pace. It wasn't until I made a right turn to another intersection did I hear his exhaust note.

Could it be that they are angry because they feel you are 'stealing their thunder'? Sad, I know ...
Maybe.

When I get my stang, just got an EDD of 5/8, :headbang: I'll wave or give a smile Although I'm in MI and live within 5 miles of a ford plant so I might get tired of waving after a while

I can't figure it out as well.
