I haven't had a waive from another Mustang owner but I've had a waive from 2 different cops and a Camaro..All three were such a shock I didn't have a chance to waive back.

When I had my car mustang I usually waved at other guys with modded or higher end mustangs such as a GT or a shelby. Seems like if the car is modded, it's more of a car guy and not just some random dude who happens to drive a mustang.

Fair enough. I can see how one would just wave to these guys. Maybe that's why the Shelby guy didn't wave to me. But I do have a GT.

Well, I have a question, since we are talking about the camaraderie (or lack thereof) between our own "kind"...

I was lurking in the Camaro forums recently...Please, someone tell me: What the heck is this all about? There are numerous member signatures like this. Reminds me of a marching band at half time.

As a Mustang guy from the late 80's on Long Island, NY- I can assure you that most Mustang owners either flashed or waved at each other. I do it now and only got a couple of responses since I got mine so I think it's more a generational thing as the younger ones are just in their own world lol. Although I'm only 45 so I don't feel that I'm all that old.. :)

It could be a generational thing. Do you notice people purposely ignoring you? This is what I'm trying to figure out -- if it's more prevalent.

I only had one 2015 wave and flash me since January 23, it was a GT CO convertible. My mom gets all the love when she drives my car around town, lol. Today she was out driving my car and another Magnetic Mustang was driving towards her honking and flashing her. She couldn't tell if it were a GT, V6 oo EcoBoost. I've seen several and none of them have looked in my direction.

Is it a gender thing then? But can you tell from afar the gender of the person driving?

Maybe it is hubris when the other Stang owners ignore you. This is all so interesting to me.

Background: I am a academic scholar in a discipline that requires a lot of abstract thinking. These kinds of behavior intrigue me.

I have noticed the same thing as well. It really does seem as if they are trying to ignore you. and like others here have noticed more attention from vette drivers than anything else. Vette owners are more social about ownership too though. Every time I ride with my friend in his C5 Z06 and we see another vette owner (no matter what model) its usually a very playful interaction and they almost always wave.
