S550 M1 Non-HP - HP spoiler install

I completed my first mod this summer and am very pleased with the results. When I first started looking at the M1 I thought the HP was a bit too aggressive looking and instead went for the non-HP. I regret that choice, but im on a quest to do a conversion. My first piece was the spoiler. It took about 3 hours as I was not trying to rush anything and wanted to make sure I did not damage the paint or the ceramic coating on the trunk lid.

The majority of time spent was the removal of the adhesive from the stock spoiler. The fitment of the HP spoiler was flawless and came with peel off adhesive strips. It came with bolts but I used the ones I took off and used Loctite.

I used a Tresalto trim tool remover kit to remove the trunk liner.

Initially I did not install the Gurney Flap but I have since and I run it all the time.

I kept the gurney flap off when I still had the car just because I have a decent highway commute to/from work if I took the car. I noticed it created so much extra drag I lost a couple miles per gallon off my drive so I left it off and only was throwing it on if I was going to do anything track related.

I agree, it definitely adds drag. I generally only drive my M1 once a week weather dependent and I have seen a drop in gas mileage but not enough for me to remove it yet.

If it wasn't as much hwy driving as it is for my commute I definitely would have just kept it on cause it looks way meaner with that thing on. Love how it looks with that on there

The only part of the HP pack I really might like are the front fender moldings.

Love the performance spoiler. My Gurney flap is still in the bag in my garage.

I have installed the rear spoiler and front splitter last weekend. I have the wheels but still need to order tires.

Getting the alignment done this weekend before I do that because the front tires are junk after just 12,000 miles.

Looks awesome. LOVE the HP wing. I left my gurney flap on because I like the way it looks. Each to his own on that, but personally the lower MPGS don't bother me

Yeah I am big fan of the look too. Even looking at it through the rear view mirror looks cool. I drive it daily in HWY the mpgs hit is not bad, still average 16/17 mpg as expected for this beast.

I’m not a flashy big spoiler guy but I would do it if I could get the matte grey to match my mirrors, wheels and stripe on my black paint.

I believe the spoiler is paintable and would look great on your ride!

It's actually a magnetic metallic color. I replaced the original hood vents with the ford performance ones but had them painted to match the mirrors/spoiler/center hood stripe when I still had mine. I thought it looked so much better than the originals. Only thing I was a little disappointed about was how I did not notice that 2 of the vents were fake on the performance ones

I never ended up taking that many or any truly good photos. These are the only ones I've got
