 Who's going to be the first to try it?
I would. But I need my car first. Been waiting since my original order in May of 2016. (My 18 is ordered)

However, while doing my research today and inquiring at body shops in my area, I've run into a little bit of an issue.

My plan was to mount the wing on a second trunk lid so I could put it back to original if I ever wanted to. Of the two shops I went to, the first just said "No". There was more conversation but pretty much every question had a "No" answer.

The second shop said they could do it until I told them it was Lightning blue. Said they'd have to blend in the paint. Which of course would make my original lid potentially not match. So currently I'm not sure what to do. But if I can get a second lid to match without jacking my original paint, I would definitely consider purchasing that wing.

And since I've already gone 14 months and not received my car, I don't want to just order the wing and have the same issue again. I already bought the GT350 car cover months ago. Which means I currently have a car cover for a car I have yet to receive.

Not sure if they just used the same image, but this appears to be a HCM Carbon wing. http://www.hcmcarbon.com/product/2015-2017-mustang-carbon-fiber-oem-style-gt350r-rear-wing/

If that's the case, steer very clear. Quality is appalling. Got first hand experience.
I inquired if they operated under any other name such as HCMCarbon. They said they did not. However, he did say that most of their carbon fiber parts are imported. I asked if this Mustang R type wing was one of those parts. He said 'yes'.

I asked who actually makes this wing because I smelled something fishy. In addition to the above, note when you scroll down on their site the "customer photos." If you click on one of them and look through his photos you'll find this following photo. Read the comments...

Also note how the wing end contour isn't the best match for the quarter panel contour.

That's a possibility. But I was hoping to have a paint matching secondary trunk lid.
I assume you saw the thread I did where I added C2C's wing. I purchased an OEM Ford decklid without any holes from Autonation. When I brought it to my body guy he mentioned blending as a possibility and I said no. He wanted the decklid and I said no (good thing we're friends). I wasn't about to leave it laying around his shop. What I did was to remove the gas lid (it comes off in seconds and snaps back in place even quicker) and brought that to my local automotive paint shop. He mixed my color, Race Red, as it is listed to be. He then painted daubs on it and let it dry a bit. He then showed me how it would look and we both agreed it wasn't optimal. At that point he blended some other color in with it to get it right, something any good paint shop should be able to do. Worked perfectly.

Even the Speedkore "Designed and manufactured in the USA" cost is $1,029
SKU: SK-CF-FORD-GT350-R-SPOILER

https://speedkore.com/shop/ford/ford-gt350-rear-spoiler/

Its almost a $800 savings compared to C2C. Does anyone have a first hand experience with Speedkore? I know they've been on Leno a few times.
Sounds like they have a good finishing process.

Yes, I could just buy the C2C and be done with it. But if I am able to find other options that are comparable in quality for less, why wouldn't I entertain those options?

Honestly, I would shy away from any wing that comes from a mfgr. that doesn't provide very detailed photos of their product. Carbon fiber is very difficult to work with and many of these shops are just not skilled enough to produce a well-made product.

Learned my lesson the hard way.

To that point and to further elaborate what I was saying to you earlier, this is what I did.

The gas lid you can easily bring to your paint guy. Open the lid, carefully peel back the sticker Ford put on the inside, and gently slip a dull knife or small screwdriver into the tab slot and release the lid outside (you'll be able to slide it off with the tab released). Lid is obviously closed here with the painted cover already removed.

Note your exterior paint code on the sticker on the driver side door jamb (mine is highlighted in red in the photo below, EXT PNT: PQ).

Take your lid to said paint guy you trust and get no less than a pint (allowed four coats on my new deck lid).

Pay up and be shocked at paint costs.:)

Deliver paint and deck lid to your body guy. They should be able to make it work just fine.

The following pdf may offer you some more insight.

Hey guys look closely at the third picture on the Vicrez website. They stole the picture from Anderson Composites. You can still see the watermark on top of the carbon fiber portion on right side next to the bottom screw. "MPOS"

To each his own but I would never modify a car to make it look like another model. You either have the money to buy the R or you dont. You cant just buy the gt350 not pay the extra 10-20k with ADM and then all the stuff to it. Its no different than people buying a 528 or 328 and add a quad exhaust with a diffuser and then put an M badge on the trunk.

I would love an R but I couldnt get myself to pay 20k more.

There are forums for porsche, bmw, etc where they have dedicated threads for these kind of things where they take pictures of copy cats and post them. It is a bit embarrassing sorry to say.

I m not against modding but this is different.
"You cant just buy the gt350 not pay the extra 10-20k with ADM and then all the stuff to it."

I can't? or did you mean I may not? So, you are saying I can't paint my calipers red like the R? What about getting a track wing as I did? I got a resonator delete too.

Should I check all the 350R parts before I make any modes. Can you link me to the google search where it says I "can't" do any R like mods to my non-R? I really, really, really want to do things right like everyone else.

Also, can we hang out sometime so I can find out more things I am doing wrong? I'll be deploying tomorrow for a few weeks (to protect our freedoms to do mods) so we won't be able to hang out until I get back.

I might have to do a gofundme in order to get the money to reverse all my R like mods. Would you be able to give to the cause? I just want to be in accordance with standards of the mod universe.

I do get what your saying like putting a 5.0 badge on a V-6. A GT500 sticker on a GT. That's all in bad taste. but, a 350 is a 350. There are subtle differences in the look. If there was an actual badge that said350R and you put in on a non-R, that would be tacky IMO. I would not do it for me . But, if someone wants to do it, its not the end of the world.
