So I just talked to a local tuning 'guru' (owns a speed shop) who advised me just to go into my global settings on my tuner and knock out 4 degrees timing for a 150 wet shot I wanna try. Like, really? I mean, I got a revised tune on a 75 shot ffs lol. Just wanted to confirm if that's true or if he's full of it. Seems overly simplistic.

Man I'd love to have an aluminator. I might get one some day. If you get one before me will you do me a favor? Give the stock engine everything you got! Run the ever loving hell out of it, push er til she blows. Just to see how much it can handle. That's what I'm going to do. YOLO!! I'm serious tho, I'm going to thrash on mine if I've got a motor sitting waiting to go in.

youd be better off having a short block built with pistons for nitrous with the ringlands farther down the piston skirt.

A 12:1 short block with forged pistons would be killer for a 200-250 shot.

Either way i would def do a custom short block over dropping the coin for an aluminator.

I've kicked that idea around myself. If I started on it in the next few months I could work on it a little at a time and be ready to drop it in, in a year or so

I ran a 150 on a bone stock 4.6 years ago. prob 100 lbs through it no prob. and yes 4 degrees pulled should be fine. Keep it a lil rich, and retarded it will be fine. You'll want to monitor AFR, and tweek jets if needed.

Thanks for the info. Considering mines a wet system, wouldn't the gas delivery when the nitrous is activated keep it a lil rich? The quicker I learn this stuff the better, as I'd like to go 350 shot one day.

I would not spray any shot without a nitrous specific tune. I sprayed my 12 a lot! Tuners do more then just pull timing. Even if your using a wet kit our cars widebands will correct to whatever the tune is set for...so it will throw more fuel through the injectors or pull fuel from them to correct to what's commanded. Nitrous tunes have a richer commanded A/F built into the tune...among timing and other changes. My 2 cents....

Good info.. that's why I said it sounded overly simplistic. But that's too be expected when they tune mostly Hondas and the occasional LS powered piece of crap.

Actually if they are a good Honda tuner that understands VTEC LOL id think maybe at least they could grasp the VCT of the Coyote.....

Its sort of like 2 DOHC 4 cylinder heads
