We still think it can, honestly ran out of time today, Adam, and I are burned. Hit it again tomorrow if we have time. The first tuning session rarely goes smoothly on a new product
I definitely think you'll see 400/400 out of this setup. If it can be done, i'm sure Adam will get it there. The more and more I look at the dyno, i'm impressed with it holding 300+ lb/ft all the way to redline even though it comes on later. Power does what I hoped it would. Builds and holds power all the way to redline. I'm sure it feels very fast! Still super interested in this setup.

How much HP/torque can this stock block safely handle anyway?

400/400 seems to be the accepted level.

Anybody know what's the max hp and torque the stock turbo can make for comparison?

I'm really interested and ready to purchase but after reading that Russian novel on the pcv valve we better do some good testing before we take our engines to the razors edge, I'm sure Adam will place some good safe guards in but I'm still worried, any thoughts on this from Adam and Vargas ?

Little Teaser - 93 pump only, we are adding a little E now...
How is the turbo spooling compared to stock? Or maybe Adam can chime in on how it spools compared to his EFR 7163. I'm torn between the two turbos but I'd like a stock appearing one to surprise people at the track

I think Adam said he got it to nearly 400/400, but recommends around 375/415 to be safe. However, this is probably pushing that turbo to it's limit, isn't efficient, and is probably pushing a ton of heat. I'm guessing the VTT Stage 2 will be a lot cooler, and require less boost for the same power (due to more volume/flow), so it will be more efficient and safer for your engine. It will also move the curve to the right which is also safer.

That issue with the blown engine is an isolated case and what "he thinks" was the problem without blaming the tuner and/or any parts company. I wouldn't be worried until there is a consist string of failures with similar characteristics and results. He said his tuner was seemingly pulling large amounts of timing, so it would appear to already have been hurt, in my opinion. I know he wanted to talk about it, but it's ended up scaring a lot of people without a real need yet. There's a lot of people running a DVCC and gutted PCV, myself included, without catastrophic failure(s), so until you see consistency in this happening, I wouldn't worry. Once again, there's tons of cases where it's clearly working and only one case where it's 'suspected' that it 'might' have been the problem.

But anyways, let's get back to talking about this turbo. 400/400 on 93 would surely be nice!

110% agree with this. ^^^^^^

I love that the spool is a little slower on the stage 2 turbo. I can't wait to see those numbers! It really looks promising thus far!

What is the safest to the WHP & WTQ right now on 93?
Depends on who is asking. Safe is prob one the most relative terms in the automotive performance world. I feel we can 100% get 400/400 consistently on pump gas, and the turbo is not working terribly hard, but its hard on the motor as that is not a lot of octane for that boost, and timing. We have lost a lot of motors on other platforms trying to appease people with sky high pump gas numbers Including a $12,000 built motor...:(. We made what we feel is a comfortable 380WHP/409WTQ. Others can push harder if they want to get 400/400 or higher on pump, we are going to move on to E30

Here is my car, no issues and with proper fuel and turbo I will do this for a customers car no problem. This is on 100oct and stock fuel system, it will make more when I have some more time. This was on the 3rd revision on a mobile dyno down in Florida.

Pump gas - 330whp/400wtq

See Justin's comment below, there isn't anything to worry about. Work with me on getting your car setup the proper way and you will never have an issue.

Not to downplay this turbo at all as so far it is VERY impressive, I want to get some good fuel in it and see how far we can go. However it is going to be hard to beat a Twin Scroll 7163EFR. The turbo itself is just insanely efficient, but it comes with a price tag.

The spool is good on this turbo, we can get it a hair better but it isn't going to be an issue if you are at the track, you are already high in the rpm after you are out of first, and first isn't going to be an issue with the super short gearing.

I think Adam said he got it to nearly 400/400, but recommends around 375/415 to be safe. I have made almost 400whp but that is on race gas additive, no additional fueling. This was before I have my new fuel system tricks and without any methanol injection.
