If you are worried about warranty then don't mod. It really comes down to your dealership. Some dealers are mod friendly and some aren't. Personally I have not heard of a warranty being denied over an intake/exhaust. A tune is a different story. My EB was tuned and full bolt on. No issues with warranty at all. Right before I traded it in, I had an overheating problem. My dealer covered the repair under warranty for me.

A tune is definitely a no no.
As for CAI or exhaust, they would have to prove it in order to avoid it.

As others will say its best to ask your dealership. The dealership I go to and bought my Mustang from sells SCT tuners, supercharger kits, etc and treats the car as under warranty if you buy and get the parts installed through them. The downside is they sell everything for a significant price over what you will find through the vendors here.

Burden of proof is never on the dealer, it's always on the owner. Magnusson Moss is a pipe dream that will cost you more money to fight than it is to fix any potential issue.

You don't want warranty issues? Don't mod...it's that simple. Otherwise, you wanna play, you gotta pay.

Do suspension mods. They can't void an entire warranty. They have to be able to prove or show that the aftermarket part affected the part you are trying to get warranty work under. Suspension is a great place to start and is usually pretty safe warranty wise. Key word is usually. Nothing is certain when modding.

And just as a side note saying "Void your warranty" is a misnomer. Dealers do not "void" warranties, however they can "deny" warranty service. No dealer can just arbitrarily void your entire warranty as if it never existed.

I never really touch the engine, certainly not a tune or replacing parts beyond a CAI or exhaust. I do a lot of suspension but bolt-on's only, I never really replace anything or something more permanent or sell the replaced parts.

Why do you think there are any ?
Highly unlikely any single mod (outside of a supercharger) will completely void a powertrain warranty, let alone the entire warranty.

Staying 100% factory is the only guarantee way...

Should be safe with suspension mods, pedal max (i'd remove before dealer visits) and aftermarket axleback.

The Burden is not on the owner. The Dealer cannot void your warranty, they will often advise that Ford likely won't cover it. However they will do the work, and write up the issue. If Ford decides not to cover it you will get an invoice. And can fight from there. My brother just went through something similar with his fusion eating itself. Ford paid for a large portion.

Talk to the dealer. It was the first thing I asked when I bought my car. In short they told my it's a Mustang, and they expect mods to happen. In terms of power train, they said if you mess with Ford programmed Logic, they likely won't cover the issue if it is found you did.

I believe Roush has a tune for this engine. As far as warranty goes, I believe it shortens the powertrain warranty.

No mod will "void" your warranty. It may result in a warranty claim being denied if the dealer/ford think it had an impact. I drove a tuned SHO for 5yrs and took it to the dealer for oil changes and a couple warranty issues (strut mounts for one) and they knew it was tuned and shazam....they did not void my warranty. Mods WILL NOT VOID the factory warranty PERIOD.....:frusty::frusty::frusty:
