I am looking to put some Stripes on my new Mustang, I found two places with pre cut stripes:

1) Big Worm Graphix
2) Mo Pro Auto

Does anyone have experience with one or the other.

In addition some more questions?

1) If your going to get the car coated say with Opti-Coat Pro, would you do it before or after the stripes are put on?

2) I have never put stripes on, but have watched several you tube videos, do you recommend I do it myself or have a pro do it.

3) Any recommendations for professional stripes installers in the Long Island, NY area?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Cannot speak for Mo Pro, but I can say Big Worm is one of the best I've dealt with for customer support (pre buying phase of answering questions). To cold in NJ for stripes but as soon as weather breaks he has my business!

Big worm seems to be the best but I have lots of questions for them regarding durability and long term care

In that case i would suggest you have the same questions for the rest of the vendors. I had my roof done by someone local and I can say that Big Worms vinyl seems and feels of a much better quality vinyl. Just my opinion. Give them a call and ask for David, he is really nice and extremely helpful. I am sure he will be able to answer all your questions and put your mind at ease.

Touchless car washes are hard on your car and stripes because they use very high pressure water to clean the car instead of the brushes. One of the car washes around here blasted off the 5.0 emblems on my last Mustang. A well maintained brush car wash is much better and most are ok for vinyl stripes. Also spray detailer/spray wax is good for the vinyl and helps with bird droppings, road grime, dead bugs, etc. It makes cleaning a lot easier also. We use the McGuires Ultimate Quik Detailer at our shop. Paste waxes or rubbing compound will damage the vinyl. Extreme heat is harder on the vinyl than cold weather. Matte colors will last longer and be more durable than the gloss or metallic colors. Let me know if you have any questions.
This should help

Rocker stripes are from Big Worm and went on really easy. Racing stripes are from PFYC and were more difficult to put on. By the time I got to the last one I had it down pretty good. Both are good quality and fit good.

Hand washing is always best, but if there is no other option you can use a brush car wash without damaging the stripes. We tested several car washes in the area with an older car to make sure.
