How do you guys clean/maintain your stripes? I wash my car often, but some spotty buildup remains on the stripes, no matter how much I wash them, I cannot get them all the way clean. Any special cleaners some have tried that have had a similar issue?

I get stuff from these guys. I have Avery stripes on mine so I bought the Avery-made stuff. The regular cleaner is good for normal wipe-downs and final post-wash cleanings before you seal/coat/wax them. The power-cleaner is for heavy-duty stuff (sap, tar, shit) and you want to be careful with it. And there's the sealant which does a nice job of keeping them shiny yet helps wipe off bird shit/bugs etc. more easily.

If you're getting spotty buildup, you might not be properly drying your stripes post-wash, not cleaning them properly, or not sealing them. Most stripes can be sealed with paint sealants or waxes, but those things can change the sheen of matte stripes so use at your own risk. But a good post-wash wipe down with a vinyl cleaner and a final sealant will go a long way.

I just use Meguiars Waterless Wash and Wax on my entire car. Havent needed a hose in months. I do wipe the car down every few days though. Works great on the stripes too.
