I've read every single thread on the subject and still cant seem to get a clear answer from them.

Installed Viking Crusader Cruise shocks with the steeda mounts and their adjustable polyurethane bumpstops, and now have a squeak coming from the passenger side rear that sounds like a bird chirping. Almost sounds like its the bumpstops rubbing creating the squeak.

Swapped them, removed, reassemble, and reexamined for any scaring the would indicate rubbing, re-torqued and re-tightened, even removed the swaybar and reinstalled in the off chance it was creating a bind of some sort. Adjusted the C and R still with out a difference.

Car drives unbelievably better over the steeda pro actions, the car no longer sucks up ever imperfection of the road making be feel like I'm on the back of a bull and I couldn't be happier! I can live with the noise if it means my car will drive as well as it does without breaking.

There are others that have had a similar issue but with other shock mounts, and cant get a clear answer whether this is just the nature of the shocks or if somethings wrong and I'm going to end up broke on the side of the road.

Any input or spitball ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I just installed my Steeda mounts on my 19after buying a new set of crusaders the other day. I don’t hear any squeaks. Just like a squish from compression and rebound. The mounts had a bit of play on the bolts. With the bolts in and loose I did hold the mounts as high as they would sit before tightening. However, I have now noticed my driver side rear is almost a 1/4” lower than pass side. Both fronts are even. I have BMR drag springs. Was fine before. So not sure. Unless I need to drop driver side mount down a little. Weird

@sabtaj1

So you threaded all the bolts, set the top as high as you could, then sank the top bolts in then bottom?

I've been doing the bottom first then trying to get the shock straight before sinking in the top bolts. Maybe I'll try this but I'm sure in the 35 different times I reinstalled them I tried that as well lol.

What bumpstops are you using?

Yes sir! I assembled the shocks to the mounts and then attached the upper mounts first. Holding them in the highest position. Then mounting bottoms of the shocks. I used my factory bump stops, three billow yellowish color. I did cut one billow off the bottom of the bumpstop since I am lowered on BMR drag springs. As it sits right now, I would say i have an inch to 1.5 inches from shock top to the bumpstop. Hard to say due to having the cover from original shock on it as well.

Fixed the 1/4” diff in height. Backed it up on the race ramps n loosened both inside lower control arm bolts and the outer ones. Then bounced the car a little and re torqued everything. So I’m assuming the bushings had to be clocked a little due to the drag springs. Oops. Much better now. Rides better too. Weird

What ramps do you use that gave you the room and I thought it had to be level? I ended up paying a shop to do it after I put the springs in but have always felt like they didnt and wanted to double check myself but never had a way of doing it myself.

Mine are only 8” tall. Was all I had to work with to attempt it.
