Hey dude! I love your write up and how detailed it is. Any update so far? I’m waiting on my wing to arrive and I’m super glad I stumbled on your post. Really wasn’t expecting so much work in regards to the wiring. What brand voltage regulator did you buy?

This is the regulator I used as per their recommendation. You may not need one though. Think I remember them saying it's 50/50 if they use one on our cars or not. Mine just happened to need it.

Mine seems fine now as long as the battery is near full charged. If I let it sit for a week or 10 days without a tender I have issues.

Good luck with the install! If you have questions feel free to ask. The wiring isn't bad at all, their diagrams work well so no real guess work there. Seeing it in action the first time is the coolest. Have fun with it!

Edit: And if you have a tsb for that trunk harness I'd highly recommend having that done before you do the wing.

Totally thought I had hit the reply button and all this time, I hadn't! Haha!

thanks for the response bro. I’m still waiting on the wing, but should make for a fun winter project.

It has something to do to with the rearview cam harness. I keep getting letters every few months that the replacement parts are still on backorder. If your effected, Ford will need access to that area, and with the VR wing you'll have a lot of stuff going on there.

And don't forget to ask them to adjust the end plates and make sure they are square...They do an assembly/test pre shipment once all the parts are in, prob could do that for ya then.

Dumb question bro (I suck at electrical)

am i crimping tow diff wires into the end of the fuse tap, connecting to the power regulator? I’ve never crimped before 😁😅

Looks awesome...we were gifted a case a champagne yesterday, so not 100% atm...

If I'm understanding your question correctly, yes you'll be running the power from the tap to the reg to the "in". You may connect it directly depending on placement. I ran the power to the trunk and connected the reg there.

Your basically following their wiring directions and just adding the reg in. "In" tap side, "out"wing side.

If that's not what you meant lmk and I'll answer tomorrow.
