I'm no sound expert or anything. I picture the rasps as "smoke rings" traveling down the exhaust. If you put your resonators closer up to the engine. It will distort the "smoke rings" (soundwaves) but they will still have a chance to reconstruct as they travel the long amount of tubing behind them. Putting the resonators at the end allows the distortion to happen and not have time to reconstruct. This is how I picture it and may have zero merits to it
