I installed a Verus S550 Defuser on the Mustang this morning, started to rain as I was nearing completion of the install. Overall this is a nice defuser, according to Verus Engineering this one creates more downforce and reduces drag so it is not just a small bumper mounted one that is for looks. Install is not bad, I did it with the Mustang on my quick jack, you will have to reach in to the top side of the defuser to reach some of the bolts and to tighten some of the bolts.

If you install this alone use a floor jack on one side to raise the defuser panel while you install the bolts on the opposite side so the defuser stays close to level and you don't have to struggle trying to keep the opposite side raised. Not a bad one person job.

Solid unit and one of the only bolt on effective diffusers for our cars.

Its more function over form so its not super visible on the car like those god awful street aero diffusers that are just plastic garden rakes hanging off your bumper and only add drag and weight. From most angles jts nearly invisible, but i added a few Verus decals to the diffuser strakes to draw a little more attention to it since im one of their reps.

Its only a few inches lower than the stock rear bumper and the strakes taper towards the front.

I think I will add those Verus badges on to mine I just installed. Would look so good. Finishing up Watson Racing rollcage today as well.

Got the diffuser for a steal on…of course… Marketplace :)

Meanwhile, the rollcage will be used for media and marketing for the company I work for, Power Tank. Win win win.

I’m somewhat of a novice on track (I’d say Novice+, I do have seat time just not a ton). Would you recommend more seat time before adding stuff like this to the car?

Seat time seat time seat time.

I’m an intermediate now, and am only doing safety/interior upgrades right now, because I get thrown the cabin too much on turns. Harnesses and seats and fire extinguisher using my Power Tank quick release bracket attached to the rollcage are next

Thanks, that’s what I figured. Trying to think a bit ahead too. Just knowing the S550 platform has some age on it now, I’m wondering if I should start stockpiling some of this stuff or if the folks like Verus will continue to support the platform for a while yet

Support won’t go away anytime soon.

Sorry and I don't mean to offend but I need an actual number. And whether the car is lowered.
DD and all that...

Well you have to be more specific as to what you want. The diffuser doesnt sit any lower than any other part of the chassis due to its shape and design. It does hang a little lower at the rear but I cant guarantee that me having it mounted to my GT350 rear bumper is going to be identical to your GT rear bumper.

All I can tell you is that at the very rear most part of the diffuser the tallest section of atrake is about 2-5/8", but again this is where the factory bumper snd the diffuser itself sweep upward so the bottom of the stakes is still level with the ground and the rest of the chassis.
