Tried installing vertical links after work and couldn't get the bottom hole lined up enough on the first link. It was getting dark so we eventually had to put the stock link back in. Hopefully I can try again this weekend. Any tips? Did this happen to anyone else?

There are some good tips in this CJPP video. Good luck! I hope it helps.

I had the same challenge. I think it's pretty normal stuff working on suspension, very frustrating. The video at 3:25 is where you get the good tip, using the pry bar. I had to do this too as I could get the hole lined up perfectly but the bolt would never thread into the far end. Using the pry bar twists that a little so it straightens it out enough to get the bolt in. I also did one more thing that I don't recommend, I tapped the bolt (not hard) with a hammer to get it at the thread before turning.

I installed the bottom first, then used a floor jack under the spindle to get the top aligned. It was still a pain.
