Guys

Have read the thread, I "think" I follow the conversation around legalities regarding changes to track etc

Anyway, have the VBM9's on order

With the tyres, common choice seems to be F275 and R295 (/35R20) and Brett has confirmed that these will fit nicely with the 1" lowering kit

So, a couple of tyre related questions

1 - What are people going for (I find tyroola the cheapest) and was thinking of runflats (I know they are harder) but 295 seems a size challenge

2 - does anyone have concerns over un-even tyre bulge for these sizes (eg a 37mm rim increase to the rear with only a 20mm tyre increase), will it look odd or am I over-thinking this?

cheers

greg

Check out post 427 in this thread. These are 275 on the front and 295 on the rear. That's a fairly standard fitment for these size wheels and fall within NSW RMS guidelines.

Thanks for the that, had not see the pics - does look great. I have the gunmetal ones coming, like the look on a black car (just need the bloody car to arrive now)

So you are buying 3K rims but want to skimp on tyres? MPSS are the best Nitto NT05 are good but a soft compound
Point was, I have have Tyroola the cheapest (local) online that shows prices, bought through them before.

Yes, MPSS seem popular

cheers

Are real wheels wider than the front or they are same size?

Hmm did anyone consider a 305 30 20 rear over the 295? I am concerned it will hang out way too much from the guards

Have been told anything up to 315 should fit.... however 295s, seem to be the best 'Fit' and in my opinion, best look for the car.

What tyres are you looking at specifically?

Im still deciding what to go with, currently thinking Michelin - Pilot SuperSports 295/35/20.... probably a little more forgiving on the rim with bumps/small potholes too, xxx/30/20 lower profiles dont excite me personally.... not enough to sacrifice wheel safety anyway.

However, the tyre shop I visited recently dismissed the Michelin's instantly saying they were too soft ..... wanted to slap him for making me have to re-think it all possibly.

In that case the options for 295/35/20 would be like:
- Continental (cheaper than Michelin's)
- Bridgestone (pricier than Michelin's)
....... and since changing from the Pirelli's to start with i havnt really considered the Pirellis in that size at all yet.

Options for 305/35/20 seem very limited.....
- Goodyear
- or Pirelli.....again not keen on them from the start.

In the past I have really liked TOYO's ..... but it looks like for a 20 inch rim there arent many choices.... and in the 35 profile.

315/35/20 would be the option in TOYO's pretty much.... which I haven't really ruled out yet :D But its probably wider than I really want.

But yeah 295s, seem to be the go from most pics I have seen.

Having just installed Michelin Pilot Super Sports, I highly recommend them. Don't listen to your tyre shop :)

That was my first thought.... I have heard really good things about the Michelins, from quite a few people.

I will be getting the mpss, it's really just if I go a 295 35 or a 305 30... I am concerned they will stick out from the guards
