This may not be the answer you want to hear but just pull the front cover.. Its too much to risk. And there's a large chance you end up pulling the cover anyway. Just take a little more time and pull the cover/cams. Those wedges are a hit or miss also. I've been one tooth out on the crank because the wedge let the chain slip. Back when i did 3 valve phasers daily.
