Is this sound of air normal? I don't remember it being like this. Only thing I did was remove the intake tube, but I triple checked everything was seated and such so it's kinda strange. Vacuum gauge on the dash at hot idle showed 18.6 in/hg

I don't hear any "air" sounds ... too much mechanical noise going on.

Do you have any stumble right as the car starts moving, or any hesitation when revving?

Nope, car runs fine. I'm gonna log fuel trims tomorrow if I can find my scan tool. It may be normal

Any resolution or findings on this? I noticed the same noise last night and swear I haven’t heard it before. Hot idle in hot/humid conditions. I have the FRPP tune, so I have replaced the TB and intake and wondered if I had developed some leak from that remove/replace. Car has seemed completely normal, minus some longish start times and a just-barely-started yesterday; I replaced the battery last night preemptively and noticed this noise.

I forgot to log the fuel trims, but I will later to see if the mixtures look OK. If they do, I wager its just from how the air is flowing through the intake at idle with the IMRC mostly closed. I found some other threads asking about the same noise so it may be more noticeable with the engine cover off.

I have a v6 and I have exactly the same kinda hissing (resembling to vacuum leak) from the intake area as well which I don’t remember before too. But the engine feels normal, no hesitation or weirdness at all. Seems like it’s just normal characteristic of the intake manifold design.

Yeah, as far as I can tell it's just a venturi kind of sound from how the runner plates are oriented at idle
