You get better launches with traction control off. Also, 2K is pretty low -- in my 2011 I always got the best launches at around 4K with torque braking.
4,000rpm with an auto? Not with a stock converter, right?

Not a chance. Anything above 2k broke the tires loose. I agree with the traction control though. Will try again once it stops raining here...4,000rpm with an auto? Not with a stock converter, right?
Yes, we wished for a manual, but the auto was the only option available, and it acquitted itself nicely in our testing. With stability control off and the car in Track mode, a launch involved holding both pedals, waiting for boost to surge, and releasing the brake. It's an amusing process, and produced a best 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds and a quarter-mile pass of 14.1 seconds at 97.8 mph. The upsized braking hardware and P Zero tires produced a best 60-0 mph stop of 106 feet, with the other three stops hovering in the 107-foot range. Those acceleration results beat the GTI by 0.1 second, but fall short of the potential speed from a WRX launched as if you've stolen it.
I actually do not have a spare tire in the trunk at the moment. I do think though that my time is pretty damn good for a stock 3.15 V6 automatic. With a CAI and a tune I bet it could very well get to that 5.6 sec run.Well don't forget Zack you aren't running a PP, you don't have 3.55 gears and you aren't running summer tires. Also do you have a spare tire in the trunk?
From the EB PP Auto run:
Yah I think it's pretty good also. Will only go up with that Tune and CAI and if you get summers, then even more.I actually do not have a spare tire in the trunk at the moment. No problem! As far as launch control, I am not using the computer (not an option) but rather holding the brake down while bringing the engine up to the RPM I want and then just releasing the brake. Thanks for the test runs Zack.
I'm a little confused though. I thought the GT manual was the only mustang that came with launch mode?
Thanks for all your efforts brother!
In the pre-2015 Mustangs, they dyno'd in the 250-260whp range. May be a little bit less in the new s550's as the IRS suspension systems sap away more power than the solid rear axles.I'm curious to see dyno results for the V6 and how they match up with the EB
Anybody know of any dyno results available for the V6?
I was thinking the same thing, however, after seeing the Dyno results for the GT coming in at ~410HP, there might be a chance transmission losses are lower this year.In the pre-2015 Mustangs, they dyno'd in the 250-260whp range. Would like to see these cars hit the dyno's soon so we can see what the overall difference will be.
