I got a UPR billet drain plug on my 2019 Mustang GT. It's a single O-ring plug not a double like the new ones.

Are the UPR O-Rings the same size as the OEM (i figure they are)? I have a tiny amount of oil leaking and suspect the O-ring is just not sealing tight anymore.

UPR can't answer an email.

Any help is appreciated.

I have the one with the single O ring for a few years. I put a light coating of oil on it when I plug it back in. No problems.

I really like my UPR Easy Drain Valve which is $10 more. Definitely recommend you go to something that has two o-rings.

I see they also offer replacement o-rings, but at $20 (plus shipping) that is a bit excessive. I haven't looked, but I am sure replacement o-rings can be bought at Home Depot (pressure washers/compressors) or at an auto parts store.

Easy drain would defiantly be worth it. I actually changed my oil with the non easy drain, 2 o-ring version last night and that initial pouring of oil always creates a splash. I haven't had issues with my plug. It always feels super snug when I go to take it off.

Also, seeing the metal fuzz on the magnet tip is always pretty neat.

I have a UPR and after seeing guys on this forum with the magnet attracting/capturing gear pieces, I would not go back to the stock plug even though I saved it.
I also would be hesitant to mix a stock plug o-ring with a UPR plug, because there may be a few thousands difference in the inside diameter, which could result in more leakage...or not. Also, the durometer of the o-ring could be different between UPR and stock, creating a better seal or a less effective seal. It's anyone's guess unless you try.

Or you could purchase a 2024 as Ford has finally realized their mistake and have gone back to the STEEL PAN with a normal Oil Pan plug. Problem solved.

If you think about it, Swapping out the plastic pan for the new Steel pan might be just the ticket for some of the guys.
