I suspect that has a lot to do with the quality of the CV’s they supply. Their website quotes the CV size as 108mm which implies it’s a Porsche 930 CV, which is the same as the CV’s they supply on their 800hp half-shafts.Really? I actually prefer a u-joint on both ends, those CV joints seem to always be where DSS shafts break...
My recommendation would be G-Force, it has a u-joint on both ends of the shaft
After breaking a few in my DSS half-shafts, they’ve supplied me with 2 different breeds of CVs (both still 930 derivatives). The first ones didn’t have any evidence of being hardened and the fact that the balls indented the stars was fairly telling of that.
Honestly, at this point, I won’t be buying anything from DSS in future.
A quick look at the recent half-shaft debacle (found here https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/dss-2000hp-half-shaft-blown-boot.124298/) should be enough to deter people.
