My camera is shot on my 19 Bullitt. Super distorted . Tried everything to clean it and found a used on on eBay for $40 so I figured give it a shot. The only walk thrus I’ve seen on how to replace the camera is by watching the deck lid replacement. I’ve seen people say the camera needs recalibrated thru forscan to get the parking assist lines back on it but is that only for a brand new camera? All the videos I’ve watched regarding the deck lid replacement show the camera being unplugged and plugged back in but no one mentions having to get it recalibrated or is the computer smart enough to know that the “used” camera wasn’t the one that came with the car?

I unplugged mine when replacing the rear deck and plugged it back with no problem.

I don't know, but I doubt the computer knows if you replace the camera with the same type of camera. I also unplugged mine when replacing the rear decklid and it worked fine after plugging it back in.

The service procedure in Forscan is quite easy to do. I don't happen to know if a different camera will require a re-learn. I've had mine unplugged for a few days and then plugged it back in without issue (which doesn't answer your question).

I have two trunks (each with it’s own camera) and I swap them often, just unplugging the harness to the camera and latch and swapping trunks and plugging the other in.

never had to recalibrate anything.

this was the fix. Bought a used one off of eBay, installed with no issues…clear, and parking assist lines are there with no issues. Thanks all!
