Back in the old days, I replaced some body panels on a couple early Mustangs. The original panel fit and alignment were not very good. So, even OEM replacements didn't fit without a lot of work.

Nice to hear firsthand info!

The discussions in other places were saying well, cant be that bad considering how stuff was back in the day lol.

Hello; I am not saying such should be made illegal. Read to me as tho someone took a look at the text of the law/rules which applies and somehow determined the consulting doctors cannot be paid for their work (supervision.
A thing is if the wording of the law/rules actually states such then technically it may be illegal to pay a supervising doctor.

I have seen several nurse practitioners over the years. There was always a doctor in the background in Ky & TN.

If there is some other thing in play i must have missed it.

Hello; no dogs in this story. The crux of this story is something i have observed many times and been a victim of a few times. That being when younger children damage something in particular and to a lesser degree use private property. No big deal if the parents stand up and make things right, but as in the story parents often refuse.
I did not have a Ferrari but did get my 1991 Nissan Sentra RE-R rocked by some kids. Parents refused to pay so we wound up in juvie court. Parents wound up paying for the dents.

The notion as i have come to understand it goes something like kids will be kids so let it go. I do get the kids may not have criminal intent or may not understand the potential for damage. But damage is damage.
A loosely related but related thing I discovered as a public-school teacher. That is when breaking up a fight between students one or more of them will get a punch or two into the teacher. Happened to me until i learned to look for such. One teacher wound up with a broken leg breaking up a fight. One trick I learned was to not be super-fast into the middle of a fight. Take a second as you approach to evaluate. If one kid is beating the other, then grab the dominate one. The loser was usually already to quit. Often enough both are ready to quit.

A question comes to mind. The guy parked his Ferrari in a place open to the public. Do any of you GT350, GT 500, Darkhorse or other high dollar Mustang regularly park in open to the public places????

Yawn. Tesla has had something better for free since 2018. Still trying to find the reverse metaphor for being killed by paper cuts. Because owning a Tesla is just one good thing after another compared to legacy.

Just turn on the optional PIN-to-start. Then type in the pin on the touch screen to allow car to be driven. Until someone can hack your brain for the PIN, pretty foolproof.

Of course owners can also track the real-time location of their Teslas(s) which is handy for either calling police or having some vigilante action.

A good thief might disable the modem to prevent tracking but disabling it also prevents Ford's $8/mo remote disable from working. Disabling modem also does nothing to bypass Tesla PIN to drive.

Anybody think Ford or any other maker couldn't provide the same for no cost? The only thing to stop them charging $8/mo is public pushback. Can't be legislated because Ford definitely has am ongoing cost of providing the service I mean it can't be cheap to make up a new PIN for you all the time.

Will be interesting to see how many fall for the service. Unless other makers provide for free (or almost) it's just a way to separate fools from their money. Doesn't even mater much how many fools there are since it's all windfall.

Hello; For decades the SCI-FI I read had artificial intelligence as a main character. The fictional systems were smart, quick & largely used to fill holes in the story. 2001 A space odyssey was among the early exceptions with an AI capable of deception. I'll be it HAL was reluctant and struggled with the deception.
Now that we actually have early iterations of AI it seems they are very comfortable with lying, cheating and stealing. They are yet very good at these things so far as they seem to be getting caught. At least for now.

The irony being there are many folks very much in favor of expanding AI. I guess they are like I was in the immediate time period before my two marriages. In hind dight I can look back and see the RED FLAGS for what they were. However, at the time I ignored what was in front of me.

Hello; Those favoring EV's have several challenges to overcome when compared to an ICE. Among them are range, extra cost, fire, tire wear, extreme cold or heat and battery degradation. The link is about battery deg (degradation.)
While I get mileage to be a valid thing to test my understanding has been the deg is based on time passage to a significant degree. That regardless of mileage some deg happens with time. But that is for another link I suppose.

From the link it seems the deg is fast at first then settles to a lesser rate. At 50K miles the battery still has 95% capacity. At 100K miles can be down to 92%. How would that apply to an ICE if they lost HP at the same rate? A 400HP ICE at 50K miles would have 380 HP. At 100K miles would have 368 HP. I am pleased such does not happen as a normal thing for my ICE car & truck. My car is now 25 years old with near 150K miles so would be down a lot of power.

Battery degradation affects range more than performance. Amperage flow rate does not decrease until the battery is quite low. All battery powered tools and vehicles have to function this way, or most would be fairly useless. A Tesla Model 3 performance does 0-60 under 3 seconds. Are you really going to notice if it drops to 3.2 seconds after 150k miles? Your example of degradation in an ICE vehicle would be more accurate if you continually reduced the size of the gas tank, not the HP.

I would like to point out that your arguments against EVs are extremely dated.

Wow! That's some major league confirmation bias there. How in the world did you assume an EV with 5% or 8% less range had any less power?

No, the analogy would be if an ICE gas tank size shrunk 8% by 100k miles. The EV power remains the same, just like an ICE engine makes the same power regardless of tank size. SMH

Good thing an ICE gas tank doesn't shrink. That might be annoying because it means driving to a gas station eventually 8% more often while filling up in the weather and watching for carjackers and other vermin.

EVs can be charged at home while you sleep (at 1/4 the cost of gas) without ever a chance of getting contaminated or sub octane fuel. So, no extra fill ups unless you drive 300 miles in a day.

Even the concept of a fill up doesn't enter the minds of many EV owners. It's just something that happens automatically in their absence.
