Shelby’s Cobra Roadsters Resurrected in Limited Edition Run | Watch
Hello; back in the mid 1960's I stopped in a Ford dealership. I think it was in or near Louisville KY. I was a senior in high school so 64 or 65. Went to take a test for a scholarship.
Anyway they had a Cobra in the showroom. I do not recall for sure but think it had the 260 V8. Best I can recall it was around $7,000 which was big bucks at the time. A loaded Pontiac Bonneville could be had for under $4,000.

Burglary victim on trial after thief killed while escaping

Hello; As is normal the title of the link is a grabber implying something other than the actual case. Essentially three thieves break & enter then steal some bikes. The owner chases after and after the thieves abandon two of the bikes, he retrieves them. One of the thieves falls off the back of a bike being driven by another thief. The bike owner had nothing to do with that fall.
Near as I can tell the bike owner is being charged for not giving aid to the thief.

Hello; I do not see it that way tho I know such has happened. Not too many years ago a teen was running from a state trooper at high speeds. Made the local news for weeks. I did know the details but some escape me just now. I think because the road was heavily populated the trooper followed some rule and did not do a full-bore pursuit. (I know the road. Lots of driveways, side streets and intersections.)
Anyway, the teen got some distance on the trooper. Crashed some distance off the road with the car catching fire. The trooper went past the crash a bit before he could turn around and get back. By the time he got to the crash it was too late to save the teen. Teens parents had influence, so the trooper wound up losing a job.
Guess my point is when you steal or run from the cops and something bad happens the outcome is on you.

Hello; Been thinking about your posts. While I do not know enough detail about your situation to be of help, I do sympathize.
That there are no children ought to make dealing with the situation much easier. Such was a blessing in hindsight with my failed marriages. Takes a very troublesome & worrisome factor off the table.
Speaking generally that leaves two or three main avenues to consider. A big one may be financial considerations. Things such as can each individual support themselves on their own. If you own property how will that work out. I have known of miserable marriages which continue because of such issues. An ideal situation might be both spouses can get by on their own.

A second thing is emotional in the sense of loving the person you married but not the person they turned into. We make vows in the beginning with one being a "for better or worse" part. Not easy to deal with, I know.

I do not know what becomes "too much" for someone else. I reached that point for myself under particular circumstances. You are miserable and will have to decide what you can stand. I wish you the best and much the same for your spouse. I suspect there are two miserable people.

I have been alone since 1987. Some times I reflect on what happened. Most often I decide being alone is better than being married.

Hope you get to a better place.
Thank you for sharing your history and honesty.

A new chapter has unfolded and I'm leaving my house tonight. A friend of mine is going to host me for 4-5 weeks. I've found an apartment to rent within my budget and centrally located to where I need to be for work. The 💩 hit the fan this morning bigtime. I haven't said a word about leaving yet. In a couple of hours, I'll head back home to pack a suitcase and my "valuables ", load them into the Vert', and go to my friends house.

I expect her to be home when I get there. That's when I will tell her that I am moving out. I will invite her to witness me removing what I need to from the safe. I will also be recording audio as I do this tonight.

I do not trust that she wouldn't call the cops and lie to them, so, I have to remove myself from the situation. Truth be be told, I I should done this 10 years ago. She texted me that this time she won't disconnect my phone from her plan and that she's not playing games with our $$$. I'll be prepared though if she does. She put me in Digital Hell last year when she did disconnected my phone without me knowing and did not let me port the # to a new carrier. I've had the same # for 19 years. I couldn't log into my bank, my jobs timeclock and all kinds of headaches.

The next chapter begins now.

Pitbulls should be eradicated from existence.

I read the article and the father is protecting the dog. Why does that not surprise me?

Hello; Several years ago on a different site a big argument broke out over fatal dog mauling's. I agree with you about Pit bull terrier types and would add at least one other. In the course of the heated discussion turns out at the time two species of dogs were responsible for around 70% of fatal dog attacks.
Among the more eye-opening things discovered was the irrational & unrealistic way some folks looked at dogs. A plethora of excuses flow for the dogs. To the point some do not ever want a killer dog to be put down. I now also am not surprised to hear about the father.

My brother has scars from a dog attack.

5-year-old boy dies in hot car, mother thought she dropped kid off at daycare: Police | Watch

Hello; The particular instance linked above is not the gist of this post. More that I read about so many such horrible incidents. Here is my point. The tech guys cn come up with small buttons which can track the location of most anything- Apple something.
Can some app be made to either keep track of a babies location and the temperature. Maybe send an alert to parents, cops, EMT's and such? Maybe make the windows roll down if a baby is present?
Pin the button to the baby or even build something in the diapers. Something always with the baby.

Tesla has a "Child Left Alone Detection" feature that uses in-car radar to detect if a child is left unattended in the vehicle. If a child is detected, the car will flash its exterior lights, play an alert sound via car's loudspeakers, and send a notification to the owner's Tesla app. This feature is designed to help prevent children from being left in hot cars.

Radar-based detection: The feature utilizes the existing in-car radar sensors (usually used for other features like Autopilot) to detect movement and breathing patterns of occupants in the rear seats.

Alert system: When a child is detected alone, the car will activate an alert system that includes flashing the exterior lights, playing an audible alarm, and sending a notification to the owner's mobile app.

Default on: The "Child Left Alone Detection" feature is enabled by default, but owners can disable it through the car's touchscreen settings.

Privacy: The cabin data is processed locally within the car and is not transmitted to Tesla, ensuring user privacy.

Hello; I like that the concept is proven. My idea was for something which works with any car, old or new. But that such a thing already exists in a tesla is good. Also becomes the first positive feature of an EV for me in a general sense. Of no value for me personally as i do not have children.

Maybe Musk could do a Jonas Salk type move and give away the technology. Maybe a small unit which can be hung on a rearview mirror or some such.

I agree with you that any parent who transports young children in any other vehicle than a Tesla should be reported to CPS.

Hello; Clever spin. No i did not want parents who do not have Teslas reported. I do want some sort of device for any car, new or old, which can be attached to a child and send out an alert when temperatures are high.
I know what is needed but I do not know what is possible. new cars have way too much pointless tech. Why not something to help children. OH. OH. I know how to motivate such, apply it to dogs as well.

Thank you.

I understand child haters may consider the hardware used for this (all of which was already there) to be pointless.

But those who care about children don't have to buy a Tesla. They can buy loud speakers and glue them to the outside of their car to provide the far reaching and unambiguous audio alerts to passers-by, find and tap into a power source that is always powered, source and engineer in-car radar and write an app to tie it all together. I didn't love kids enough to go that route (plus I'm lazy), so just bought a Tesla. Wasn't a must do though. My observations indicate the quality of children has steadily declined since some time in 1949.

Of course critics will rightfully point out that children who ride in Teslas will certainly die a fiery death anyway while in transit.

I admit I have done sone really bone head things in my life but I cannot for any reason, other than high on drugs, see how anyone can leave a kid in a car unknowingly.
