UK Test Drives From Next Week

My local non Ford Store dealer had previously mentioned about getting the loan of a Mustang from the Ford Store so I could test drive it. Maybe I could test drive it on the local dealers insurance, it would save me an extra 2 hours of a round trip.

Really? I'd be shocked if they allowed that to happen, especially with how stringent ford are being with the ordering of car's (Can't go to a non-approved dealer etc to put in for a stang, even a ford one at that). But good luck to you should it happen - 2 hours is a long travel!

Really?! I was explicitly told that this could not happen as i'd gone to my local dealership (15minutes down the road), however they told me to go to Derby or Birmingham to place the order. Ohwell, guess that's my bad then!

Many local dealerships are part of a group and only selected locations are Ford Stores which can handle orders for premium vehicles such as the Mustang. Obviously a branch can refer you to the Ford Store in the group. Maybe the local branch can handle the order but I would prefer to deal as high as possible - imagine the nightmare of having another layer to negotiate for order updates.

The order is still placed through the Ford Store, only difference is that my car will be delivered to my local dealer (20 mins away) rather than the Ford Store itself (1 hr 20 mins away).

I had a test drive this morning in an auto GT convertible. Its odd doing everything backwards, having ordered the car back in May before ever seeing one, let alone driving one, but I now know I have done the right thing. All Ford need to do now is actually make the thing. The car I drove was black, black wheels, and ceramic leather. Looks great, and the weather was on my side so the roof was down part of the drive. The car sounds wonderful with no roof to muffle it. I wish I could have tried a manual as thats what I have ordered, but I am sure that will just be even better. I am so envious of those of you who have already got yours!

Hendy Ford Eastleigh have confirmed they will have test drives available in the next few days.

But they think my car is still at the docks in the US...

first driving impressions

Had a test drive today of a gt fastback auto I wasn't too impressed with the get up n go until I put it in sport (all nannies on n I'm sure demo cars are de tuned ) but my 81 yrs old dad loved it

hey hammer time, thats exactly what i first thought when i test drove several in the states. just kinda drove like a normal car at first ..... until you get over 3-4K revs then the fury is unleashed! its kinda nice and makes it an easy DD. if you want it different... tune, whipple, etc.
