Auto. Fits my planned use of a convertible as a cruiser and my proximity to roads that are routinely clogged.

According to Ford it's 60% manual and the rest auto. I'll be getting mine in manual.

I'm in the minority with an auto. It made sense for my planned usage too. I spend the best part of my commute in congestion most working days. It's also more economical than the manual and, it would seem, as quick (can anyone variety this, don't seem to be any official figures from ford!). I had the use of a 6 speed manual focus a couple of weeks ago and I enjoyed the manual driving experience until I hit bumper to tail traffic that is

I have a GT vert on the way. Its manual. I dont realy get on with auto boxes (but am pleased Ford offer the Choice). I suspect the proportion of manual coupes will be higher than manual soft tops as the coupe is bound to be a better drivers car, being stiffer, but I am happy to sacrifice that in exchange for losing the roof. I have no idea about the 4 pots......

Manual GT Coupè. I'm very picky with automatic boxes, and the only time I've enjoyed using an Auto was the sport DCT on a 335i M-Sport (even then it wasnt smooth and a bit juddery when stopping) and the 8-speed ZF in a Jaguar XE. I honestly don't think I could live with an auto and remain sane.

But then, I'm not a typical manual driver. I rev match, heel toe downshift and slip the clutch as pure second nature. Without thinking. Considering that's my default state in a manual car, ford's slush box 6 speed would've driven me around the bend.

Probably going to need a pedal extension for the mustang from what I hear. But I'll save that for when I'm confident enough with the car to get back into the heel toe groove.

Yep I had a 335i M with auto - only car I've had with an auto. But didn't enjoy it, made the driving dull for me. And the push for down, pull for up rather than left and right - what was all that about! Anyway horses for courses I suppose.

Happy to sacrifice the occasional annoyance of a manual in London traffic for the Sunday country drives with the stick. But I suppose it's not my everyday car and I use the train a lot so can understand why peeps who have the Mustang for an everyday drive would opt for the auto.

I have a manual coming, the last few daily drives have all been automatic, there was no choice, they only made automatics, trouble I find with automatics are they are very slow in changing gear, will make a change to go manual

GT - Manual.

I LOVE driving manual performance cars. To me it's an intrinsic part of the driving experience.

Auto. Going to be my daily driver and probably starship mileage. Current car is slushmatic with flappy paddle option. Have to say though that auto sport mode really works and changes faster and better than I ever could. Hoping the Ford auto is as good but would never go back to a manual anyhow

Went manual for my EB. as it's a DD, would have probably preferred auto, but was too skinflint to want to pay for it (fuel, tax bands and resale). After the 2017 car tax changes, this won't be as much of an issue, so if I had the choice again, would probably go auto. My desire for a comfy knee outweighs my desire to drive around pretending I'm in a Fast and Furious film.

I'm a manual!

But auto is faster if drag racing as it launches better and puts power down better. The manual is as quick but 99% of drivers can't match the perfect shift times and launch ability of the auto which makes going fast easy.
