OR, you can use an intelligent BOV controller like this - http://www.turbosmartdirect.com/Product-Categories/BOV-Controller/BOV-controller-kit-controller-and-hardware-only-NO-BOV-BLACK.html which was originally developed for Diesels (no vacuum) and Pro drag racing.

This results in a BOV that will literally respond in milliseconds and always "follow your foot".
This isn't a theory.

I know this works because I have been doing it for years now ;-)
This is very interesting. I tried searching for someone who used this other than diesel owners, and I couldn't find anyone. But I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I would try a green or blue (lightest) spring. Pink is normal.

I may get a green one and see how it works.

I just ordered the Green spring in the link higdominator provided above. I think that is the one that comes standard in the PB based on descriptions. Also I got the confirmation that the updated MAP adapter is on its way so I'll be putting both on in a couple weeks (due to holiday shipping times) and I'll update the thread

The people that do it are mostly professional drag and time attack racers that do not/will not publicize how they do what they do.
We gave it three different methods of operation specifically due to their requests ;-)

Yeah I was going to say, you just might have outed the best kept secret! Very interesting stuff, thanks for sharing.

Question on the smartport though-most BOVs that I've found labeled smartport are vehicle specific. However, Turbosmart's website has the F150 Smartports listed underneath the Supersonic BOVs. Is the universal fit Supersonic the one you were referring to?

I don't mean to derail your thread Eco, this should be the official BOV thread at this point, lol.

I didnt mention any names :eyebulge:

The part number Adam is referring to is TS-0956-1001.
Its not listed on the web site as it is something that is purchased by kit builders. It does not come with a flange or any other parts.
It is available from MAP for use with their kits for example.

The Supersonic is similar, but not the same valve (piston, spring and trumpet are different).

Gotcha, makes sense now why I couldn't find it. MAP initially offered the Vee Port BOV with their charge pipe kit. I'll reach out to them and see what they can do for me.

No problem. I need to catch up on my BOV knowledge because I really wasn't paying it much attention until I started to suspect it was leaking

Yeah I would say there was some misunderstanding/miscommunication.
Harder adds pre-load to the spring making it release later.

The o-ring - yep its tight and is supposed to be. However, it appears that the bore in these manifolds is not very consistent so some are harder than others. Too loose would result in leaks.

And yes, we have worked with Adam for many many years and hes an absolute GREAT guy. I trust him to tune my personal cars as well.

Adam indicated that he was seeing some timing corrections on the dyno and in data logs that we had not seen before. We take Adams input very seriously and started looking further into it.
We found that our alloy block was heat soaking and causing some temp/timing corrections. The other ecoboost platforms do not have the combo sensor in the same location.
So we developed a completely different method that will still allow the best signal possible. This has been shipping for the last month or so.
You wil also note that the instructions had been updated and you can see how it works here - https://system.netsuite.com/core/me...me=131819&cart=100270&addrcountry=AU&gc=clear

Anybody who wants the new version, just e-mail [email protected] with your address and a copy of your original purchase receipt.
Really nice!! I love that setup. I'll have to send an email and update mine.

Is the 1/4 re-enforced hose referenced in steps 11 & 12 included in the updated kit or is that an OEM hose that is already there? I noticed it isn't listed in the items list at the top of the instructions

On a side note to my above post, what are you guys with mechanical bovs doing with your recirc hoses?

I went back to the stocker for the time being, and the odd misfire I had went away, plus CAT and IAT came back in line with each other. In stop/go traffic with the TS spacer/bov, CAT crept into the 120-130 range, and IAT were 90-100. That told me right away the TMAP was seeing false temps, and the bov wasn't venting at light throttle. Stock setup back on the car, IAT and CAT were within 10-15* of each other consistently...under part throttle cruise, dropped back to 3-5* separation. I found a T fitting so I can change the vac signal source, now just have to order the lighter spring for the bov. Back to tuning/data logs so Adam can dial it in better now that the data will be more consistent.

It's included to make installation simpler.

Update: I now have the updated kit from Turbosmart which also included the new hose and clamps (thanks EnFOURcer) and the green spring from jegs arrived yesterday. Has anyone tried green spring and updated vacuum source combo yet?

Just curious what kind of impact those two changes will make
