Hey everyone, I just installed a turbosmart BOV and it just doesn't seem to sound right. I bought it from another member, so "factory" settings are already lost. He said it had already been tuned correctly, but upon install, something definitely seems off. I've tried adjusting it, but it doesn't seem to go right on any setting. It seems to be leaking boost on half throttle acceleration and fluttering when I let off. Does it need to go softer or heavier, or am I missing something here

Thanks

Also, I have an air raid intake

I had the same problem with a brand new TS BOV. No matter how much I adjusted it I still got the same fluttering when I let off at low boost and still had the same whoosh sound through the open intake box at half throttle. The sound you hear at half throttle is not an issue but the fluttering is. I took mine off and replaced it with the stock BPV. IMO your not going to benefit much from the TS BOV unless you just want the blow off sound when you let off at high boost.

Probably just better suited to replace the spring and pin in the stock valve using the GFB valve.

Flutter at low boost is normal for the stock turbo on this car and many others with small turbos. It happens because the turbo being super quick spooling and small ends up Taking away vacuum at low throttle inputs. So there is not enough vacuum to overcome the spring pressure and solidly close the valve and flutters the valve. Putting a lighter spring in will stop that but also allow the valve to be open at idle as the spring will not have the pressure to close the valve due to the vacuum at idle. It's normal and part of having a stock turbo. If you don't like the sound then keep it stock or try out the GFB valve.
