Turbo studs..

I'm trying to flush up and reseat my mishimoto downpipe. Whilst taking out the oem the nuts on the turbo studs were so tight that it turned both turbo studs out a little.

Because of this the downpipe isn't bolting flush to the turbo.
I have everything taken apart again and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get the studs back into the turbo manifold.

They look like they screw in but I've seen people talking about tapping them.
Anyone have any ideas on this?

Double nut em and wrench em back in. I'm assuming there threaded in in the first place.

Yeah I'm pretty positive they turn in. Not tap. What do you mean by double nut them.

Gonna try that now. You mean just put two nuts on one stud?

Putting two nuts jammed together will allow you to turn the stud.

that can turn into a bad situation though. was reading on fb awhile back about people ripping the studs out or cracking the turbo housing. im sure they was idiots, but its possible.

When I bought my downpipe, I made sure to get the Snapon A140 socket for the turbo studs along with a new set of studs just in case anything happens.

VIM used to make a socket for this.
