Saw the COBB AP before I went with LMS which is $100 more. Decided their expertise was more important to me than a fancy device. I knew from the start I would never use those features
Well you know for some people it's about the tune as well, being some only do the Cobb platform.

Yea there are reputable tuners like Adam for the COBB device also. I just decided they were the one I wanted to go with. I can see why a lot of ppl choose based on device but I'm just saying those features are not necessary for everyone

If it was an emergency why were wasting time changing a tune? Through in some 87 and go it won't hurt anything as long as you keep your foot out of it.

Dave
Mainly because I pay for someone to tune my car and I have no expertise in that field. I assume as I'm sure most everyday people do is that nothing good can come out of driving on a 93 tune with 87 fuel. Your probably right nothing would have happened, but I wasn't in a situation where I was willing to take a risk.

You can DO what ever you want but that doesn't necessarily make it a reasonable thing to do. I am not interested in having to keep containers if methanol or E30 in the garage to fuel up a daily driver.

Dave
I am. :headbang: gonna keep a spare jug of meth in back seat.

so I've got an off-rode downpipe, and cel is on. obviously because i don't have a cat. so because i have my cel on, I'm not able to turn on my car with my remote (key fob). my question is, if i were to tune my car will i be able to use my key fob and turn on my car? i know if i tune it, it'll get rid of the cel, but will it also fix the remote start issue?

Personally I can't imagine a situation where I would want to switch tunes on the fly.

Dave
It takes less than 4mins for me to flash another tune to my car with the LMS device. Never had an instance where I needed to do it while I'm out though

I've used it countless times. I run E30 primarily (and now working in E85). I've been in situations where a store stated they had E85 and they didn't. I filled up with 91, started the car, pushed Cruise Cancel, down two spots, and drove away. Took all of two seconds. I didn't need to baby the car because it had the wrong fuel for the tune, I just drove it.

Is it a necessity? No, but it sure as hell limits the amount of time I spend watching a status bar creep across my device's screen. It's also nice to be able to drive around on a 93 tune and be able to flip on the meth pump, drop into the meth tune, and dig into it (of course in Mexico lest I hurt some feelings).

so I've got an off-rode downpipe, and cel is on. obviously because i don't have a cat. so because i have my cel on, I'm not able to turn on my car with my remote (key fob). my question is, if i were to tune my car will i be able to use my key fob and turn on my car? i know if i tune it, it'll get rid of the cel, but will it also fix the remote start issue?
The car won't remote start because of the CEL. Fix the CEL = car will remote start.

Yup, remote start will work once the CEL is removed. Easy fix.

I see you ordered a COBB AP but who did you choose for a tuner? While the canned tunes from COBB are an improvement over stock, even they recommend you work with a tuner for a custom tune. If you chose Tune+, I know you'll be impressed with Adam's tune!
