Reading the topics on tuning / tuners, a question has come up.

In stock form the Mustang has 4 driving modes: Normal, Sport, Track, Wet/Snow. If you upload a tune, does it change all 4 modes, or only 1? If it does change all 4, in what way?

I have used tuners before (on my previous GT's, and a GMC truck) but not on a car with multiple driving modes, where flip of the switch changes some of the tuning from the factory.

How does this work? Can someone (or many) enlighten me?

The drive modes do not affect engine parameters, so a tune shouldn't operate any differently unless it's stated by the developer.

What he said. Things like steering response, throttle response, etc. are affected. You won't get more HP in Track mode.

Hmm I do see his point though. On a Shelby tune can effect throttle blade positions and a myriad of other system.

I guess the question here is just how much, and what the different modes effect.

I'm wondering that too since the driving modes do mess around with throttle response and shift points.....

The only thing the modes do to adjust throttle 'response' is remap the throttle curve for the pedal. So there aren't any changes being made save for how much pedal travel = X amount of throttle opening, up to the same max point when going WOT.
