Map slots arent available on the 18+. Youre not the first person to have issues w Adam but he seems to know how to tune these cars well. Just cant have thin skin dealing with him. Im also super suprised that cobb didnt ask you what year car you were asking about begore giving you advise

So I'm curious if anyone else has had issues with tune plus? I'm currently going through the tuning process with them and having issues with switching map slots. Also, not sure of anyone else's impression of Adam but he seems a little arrogant. Not sure if this is just with me or all tune+ customers, but I'm trying to get a grasp on how he does things. First off, Adam keeps telling me to hit cruise control cancel then use the + and - buttons to change the slot. However that's not working. When I told him, he keeps telling me to do the same thing and not really addressing the issue. I called Cobb to make sure it wasnt anything on their end and all firmware was up to date, which is was. Still cant figure it out. I have an 18 mustang EcoBoost. Anyone else have a similar experience?
No you're not alone, I switched from tune+ to PD Tuning and I will never go back. I get that Adam knows his stuff and was one of the first to push the platform when he was with MAP perfromance, but god damn it doesnt mean you get to be a A**hole to everyone who asks questions. He was extremely rude to me every time i asked questions about my revisions. The vibe i got from him was "shut up, im right youre wrong".

Ryan at PD on the other hand is the total opposite, guy is super polite and will answer any questions you have. If you've done something "iffy" to your car he quick to point it out and educate you on a better option. Never going back to Tune+

I get Adam is extremely busy and probably gets asked alot of the same questions by eco-newbies, but again doesnt mean he has to be a D**k all the time. Those people are the reason he gets a paycheck, something that i believe is lost to some business owners now a days.

Adam is an immature, arrogant asshole who has probably blown more Ecoboost engines than any other tuner.

When tune+ started blowing engines, this genius blamed an engine defect in early Valenlcia engines, claimed.the Cleveland engines were safer to tune, and continued blowing Cleveland engines the same way he was blowing Valenlcia engines.

Damn, I didn't know he was all that bad. A lot of people said he is good at what he does, just an arrogant asshole. Now you're making me nervous to go through with my tune from him! Is he really that bad? And if so why is he still in business?? Seems like he knows what hes doing. Is it possible that was only because he was just starting out? I'm curious of other people's opinions on him! Does anyone like him, or has anyone had a good experience with this guy??
He gained a ton of traction for being one of the first to tune and push the limits of the platform, a reputation is all a newbie needs to hear to go " well everyone else is getting tuned by him i should too". Being one of the first to the party goes miles.

Someone else i gave consideration to is Stratified tuning, they are ecoboost specialists and have heard nothing but good things about them.

I wouldn't be able to give any feedback on Stratifled but I went through the same issues. Tune + was slow, took forever to set appointments when I just needed to live tuning done. PD Tuning was able to get a date set right away and get the config I needed done quickly with great back and fourth.

I agree with turbotigger604 Ryan, Gives feedback, tells you about concerns or issues he is seeing, and works through them. That will 100% never happen with Tune+ at that level.

Also PD was flat out better, When we had the 2018 on the dyno he was able to tune it without all the garbage that came with a TUNE+ experience. If you have the money just make the switch now to someone you like working with. I know spending it twice is never fun but you'll be a lot more confident in your setup working with someone else. That's my 2 cents.

Also not to derail ryan_meadows412 but I noticed on the 2018 that when you have more than 2 gauges selected the data logging doesn't work. I am not talking fields selected I mean gauges. I have a support ticket with Cobb on this did you experience the same? 3 gauges and up produced an error, 2 and down fine?

I really dont mind Adam, as long as he can do a good job. The guy seems like he knows what he is doing. It just sucks trying to get feedback from him. It's like pulling teeth. But his responses are always super quick even though they're short..
Is that how you want to feel about someone who has the life of your engine in his hands, or would you rather feel confident in the tuning that your getting and the support that comes with it....?

I don't have a tune on my car yet but I have been reading the forums long enough to have a small thought on the tune+. They way I interpret them is that they tune the most ecos so yes in turn the larger percentage of blown motors comes from them. I do believe that the 15 and 16 motor were inherently flawed as those are the ones you see go boom. I have not seen one 18 motor blow up yet, and I can't recall reading about a 17 either.

That being said I think as time went on Adam made his tunes more conservative and thus less tend to blow if your not going for max power. I would not worry to much about being tuned from him these days, just don't go for max power, get a good conservative tune and don't risk it for a few extra ponys.

Now in full disclosure I will likely be going with PD tuning as well, mainly cause I don't like assholes and they tend to have a great reputation. However I wanted to be fair and give another perspective of what I have seen reading the forms for 3+ years. Hopefully my opinion helps, take it as you will.

I have PD tuning and couldn't be happier. Did my initial set up, went back for WG and now doing downpipe. Very smooth transaction and tunes are awesome.

Just a bit of food for thought.
Right now I'm currently on the FP Tune but have been following this platform for a while and just want to throw my two cents on the Tune+ tunes and the whole "Blowing the most engines".

This was happening on the 15's and 16's a lot but I don't like that a large part of this was due to the tunes.
I believe this was more hardware i.e. original designed low side fuel pressure sensor and the EVAP purge solenoid being fault form the factory and have since been redesigned (however this can still come even on the 2018 so these should be checked).
He was the one to figure this out and has answered this on his FAQ portion on his website "https://adamtuned.myshopify.com/pages/faq" and has a lengthy FB group thread talking about this. he also has tuned an RS that competes in the optima street challenge. Also they have been people to leave and come back to tune+ and be happy about this return (this can be reference by the youtube channel "Watch My Eco" where he went from tune+ to PD and back to Tune+.

Both Tune+ and PD are pretty much the go to people and the amount on knowledge that has been found out since the release of the 2.3 has pretty much made tuning these engines more "safe". Either way its just finding a tuner that is the right fit for you.

I understand what you're saying. I honestly dont think Adam is a bad tuner. He's just an asshole. I work around a lot of assholes so I'm use to that kind of personality but to be honest, he seems to have gotten better as the process continues. I dont know if he just takes a while to warm up to people. I feel like at first he though I was half retarded based on my questions but now that he sees I somewhat know what I'm talking about it's not so bad. I'm just curious though. What should I do? Get the tune from Adam then call it a day and either use it or dont, then later on buy one from pd or stratified? Or just say screw it and stop the tune right now and move on to another company? Wasting 200 bucks isnt really something I wanna do. Especially if theres a chance he will actually give me a good tune...
Its your car and your money so I can't make the decision for you, but my two cents is this- If i had known what i know now about Tune+ and PD Tuning, I would have NEVER gone with Tune+. I'm not saying youre gonna get a bad tune from adam at all, my tune was fine(but PD's is miles better IMO).

Again im not saying you'll be unhappy with your Tune+ tune, but I'd rather have not given my money to a A**hole.

I'm curious too......How is the PD tune "miles better"? mpg, et / mph, mpg, shift, idle, what's better ?

*****No other tuner has ever blown a motor// just that tune guy?
Anyone on this post blown up or tuned by the tune plus?
Not one eco car owner is arroganta**hole?

Sounds like a "set up" posting, read it again...... a guy did good work and some don't like his mannerisms....... and here comes the bandwagon.

And they ask why is the eco forum declining...............

It's not solely about blowing engines. Customer service matters. I have never read one post about good customer service from tune+. So everything else aside I won't go there for that reason alone. Again I know he is a good tuner and I don't fault Adam for the early failures. But if he doesn't want threads like this to pop up then he needs to provide better customer service.

Pulls better to redline than my tune+ tune did, overall drive ability under normal driving conditions is better, throttle response is smoother and not as edgy as the tune from Tune+.

There's no setup here, the OP asked about Tune+ and we have given him info from our experiences. As I stated early, i wasn't disappointed with the tune from Tune+, just the service. But if you're asking me which tune i think is better then i will continue to say my PD tune is MILES better.
