Tune device swap

New to the Mustang game so forgive the questions you may view as idiotic. So I have a VMP tune and used an SCT device for that tune so my stock tune is now saved to that device..just bought an Ngauge and want to flash a Lund tune to replace VMP tune.. Do I first Load my stock tune back from the SCT device to my vehicle in order to Re-Tune it using the Lund tune and Ngauge ? Trying to save the stock tune for SMOG CHECK purposes and trying to consolidate tunes to one device
