Hi... So I'm looking for some input from you guys on this since you all know more than me about what these cars do boosted. I have a 2019 GT PP1, A10. My goal is 10.8-10.9, on DR's, basically keep me ahead of the Hellcats, Z06's, etc.

I've been looking at the Roush because I would really like to keep my warranty but I'm afraid it won't provide enough power to get me to my goal. I look at the Whipple and it has the power I need but then I'd need to add a few other things pushing the cost even higher all without a warranty at this point. The last thing I want to do is grenade my motor and then be out even more money.

Do you guys that have been doing this with the S550's think the Roush can do it or am I destine for a Whipple?

If you don’t want a restrictive roush but want a warranty, the edelbrock 2650 comes with a free warranty on their stage one. Same rotors as the roush, minus the poor inlet design. Otherwise whipple stage 1 has an optional warranty for purchase.

I may check out the Edelbrock, I haven't yet. I've done some research into the Whipple warranty and it's not very good based on what I've seen unfortunately.

Yea, the aftermarket warranties with superchargers tend to not be super great.

The Whipple warranty is pretty close to what the Roush Warranty is, and they both suck so I wouldn't be looking at the blower based on the warranty that you can get from them to cover the engine. You don't need to add anything to your car with a Whipple stage 1 or 2 kit that you wouldn't have to add with the Roush kit, so that shouldn't really be a factor. The nice thing is that the Whipple should give more room to grow as the inlet is not restrictive like the Roush. The other kit I really like is the Edelbrock kit if you want a TVS blower vs. a twin screw as it is the same rotor pack as the Roush, but with better intercooler, and less inlet restriction.

The edelbrock warranty has some restrictions as well. Just make sure you understand the restrictions.

The Roush can be further tuned to make considerably more power if the initial install does not meet your expectations.

That new Whipple blower is so impressive. If I was in the market for a PD blower, I would definitely go that route.

The Edelbrock 2650 is also doing great. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

The Roush blower doesn't look to be designed as well as the Edelbrock.

If high 10s are the goal, does the car really need a power adder? Of course boost increases the smile per mile.

I raced a Z06 back when I was at low boost and making 550rwhp and he was about dead even. I have not raced one on my current setup, but it would not even be close anymore. I imagine you really on need about 600rwhp if you want to get decently ahead, and I think both of those options would get you to that mark. Can't go wrong with either, but if it were me I would stick with the cheaper kit that gets you to your goals.

As far as the warranty I really would worry about your motor at the horsepower goals you are looking to achieve. There are so many of these cars with 600 and 700 horsepower and living for so long its insane. I really only hear of failures once you get to around 750rwhp and above.

Def check out the Edelbrock, their stage 1 comes with their warranty if that is something that you want to keep. The Edelbrock's design is also more efficient than the Roush not to mention their intercooler is much larger and also helps make it better than the Roush unit.

As I understand it, you don't "keep" your warranty with any kit. The SC manufacturer simply gives you their own warranty(provided it is installed and documented by an ASE approved mechanic). Also, any tuning outside their canned tune is disqualified from any warranty.. Others please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have narrowed my decision down to a Roush kit or a Procharger kit;

I the Roush because it leaves a lot of room on the table for improvements and isn't pushing the limits of a stock motor, I like it for re-sale value because there are many potential buyers that will see it as an "almost factory" improvement,

I like the Procharger because I have been told by several people that they are the easiest to install of all the kits and it has a very OEM look if you get the black powedercoat. 9my opinion of course)

You owe it to yourself to speak with Beefcake Racing when you are ready. The prices are outstanding and the support is too.

a roush blower on the roush tune might not get 10.9 but i have seen a tuned roush on a tire hit 10.4. any boost will get you to 10.9 can even get there NA with a little effort.

I'm sure it can be done NA but a power adder is probably more efficient and retain more "Stock" drive ability.

I have been looking at the Edelbrock after a few comments from you guys and looking into it a bit. Their warranty seems to lie somewhere between Roush and Whipple's offer and the actual blower seems to be better than the Roush if for nothing else the improved cooling. I usually spend a lot of time reading the forums, little time posting... Glad I did! Thanks and please keep the comments coming!
