This Trunk Mat / Spare tire cover is driving me nuts, it's sliding all over the trunk so I picked up some push button latches, and designed a soulution, I found them on Amazon. I had to make some brakets out of aluminum to support the latch pin.
it works great.

I don't think I ever even opened my trunk... First or second R.

Threw mine out, weight reduction bro
True, but I found going on a diet reduces more weight than the 3 lb trunk tire cover.

I dont like putting stuff inside my car so stuff like my computer backpack goes in the trunk. the matrial
of the backpack tends to stick to the carpet material on that cover so that makes the covers movment worse.

Nice idea. The mat in my 2010 Mustang is always moving around too. I'm the same way everything goes in the trunk, nothing inside.

Strange - my '18 doesn't seem to move at all. I put my work bag in the trunk every morning, so I'm always in and out of the trunk.

I guess you don't drive like you stole it  I love finding the windiest roads to drive on. and if there is traffic on it I hang back before the curves then hit them hard as they come up, I hate straight roads.

I put a Lloyd trunk mat in mine shortly after bringing it home. No sliding of either mat. Now, the stuff back there, that's a different story. I bought a couple of milk crates made to fit six one gallon jugs. Together they are the same width as the front of the trunk and keep small stuff in place.

in my 2005 Mustang GT, I bolted a Ammo can into the trunk, I had a pad lock on it, I would store my Pistol or other valuables in it when needed, basically a safe that you could not remove

I did the same thing for a console in the '91 Wrangler. The back of the box was notched and welded so it hinges.

I used flat head bolts and drilled the holes on the inside of the can. lined the bottom in foam. the only way to remove it was to open it.
