I tried to replace the stock clutch spring in my 2021 GT today and really struggled to compress the spring to take it out and replace it with the Steeda spring. I was using a 6” needle nose vice grip and that sucker wasn’t compressing at all. I had the clutch pressed in as well but no give. Do I need to use a larger set of vice grips? How do I get that thing out?

Large zip-ties. Put a few of them around adjacent coils on each side. You can pull them tight to compress the spring.

Never mind. Got that sucker out with my hands. Got a new clutch spring in and it feels much better.
