I ordered the 3 from bass pro got them for $105 i had a gift card. Thats a good deal but i dont need that many. I live 15 mins from E station so these will mainly be used for transporting an extra tank when travelling to see my boys about an hr away.

I use metal jerry cans and they don't leak, but I don't really want them inside the car. For short trips, I'll do it, but its dangerous with a capital D.

FWIW, if you can, fill up the cans at a station a lot closer to your destination. Usually no need to have them full for the entire 3+ hour trip.

It goes off if in the unlikely event of a collision which ruptures the plastic cans and sends gas all over the place. That much should be obvious. Do we take our chances? That's up to us.

Dangerous is the most generic/relative term ever used. Just getting into a 3000lb+ moving vehicle with a bunch of imbeciles on the roads all around you is also just as “dangerous”. It’s a word that could be judged on a completely different scale from person to person or risk factor analysis.
