i noticed that when i put the car in reverse and back up then go to drive it is delayed and when i push the gas it revs instead of going into drive after 3 seconds it goes into drive

On my car, going from R to D there's about a 1 second delay after the shifter is in D. If yours takes 3 seconds before it engages, check the ATF level; it could be low. I've read posts where a few guys have discovered their fluid level was low. If the fluid level is OK, perhaps there's a component problem or maybe there's an updated software for the trans.
