Hi, I have a 2015 automatic ecoboost. Tonight I went to put it in reverse and it will not go. Goes in drive and that works but when reverse is selected and gas is pressed it just revs. Car went into reverse fine last night when I parked but tonight nothing. Are these automatics new in 2015 or is this known issue with them. Going to call dealer today.. but wanted a little heads up before hand. Car only has 1300 miles

This is first mustang I ever owned so im not familiar with its transmission. WhiIe i wait for monday to come to get in touch with dealer can anyone who had older generstions with this transmission chime in. I just find it hard to believe a car with a thousand some miles with no abuse could have transmission problems already. Car gave no warning, no noise, nothing. Drove fine, parked. Next day I select sport plus driving mode, put it in reverse to go to work and now no reverse. I wonder if all these drive modes has something to fo with transmission acting up. Guess ill have to keep ya posted.

Maybe try disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU? You should also get some sort of check engine light due to the transmission issue... So before resetting the ECU scan the OBDII to see if there is a code.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was thinking about doing that. I don't have any lights on dash and unfortunately no scan tool. Do you think it be bad idea to disconnect without scanning first. I'm just worried if I disconnect battery and that doesn't work that the dealer would have issue with it. You know what I mean like I was trying to hide something. It be great if the battery thing worked. I'm not a fan of dealership work. Car always comes back with scratches, dings or something else. If you think dealership can't deny me warranty work by me just trying the battery thing, I'll try it. I'm stuck at work now for next 13 hours. Thanks for help.

But I'll try it when I get home. Unless since I don't have scan tool you suggest towing to dealer and let them fix it.

Well dealer is booked up till Friday with no loaner cars available. They are all out on loan. So I'm without a car for a week. Plus however long they have it. Tried battery disconnect since tech also suggested it. Didn't help. They are only dealer close, so I'm shit out of luck till Friday or longer.

Being an automatic, I'd say it's ***generally*** the same transmission as most other automatics. Obviously # of speeds, hp, etc. play into it. But my point is it's not failing because you're not familiar with Mustang transmissions of old, but simply because you unfortunately appear to have got a defective unit. Or maybe the trans is/was fine from the factory, but something unpredictable happened, like a chipmunk bit through some wires (happened on a friends Focus). Anything is possible.

I'm really sorry to hear that :brokenheart:. But the dealer will get you in there eventually and it will be good as new. Stay strong, brother!

Thanks. Today is finally appointment at dealer. I noticed that drive takes awhile to engage but eventually does. Dealer is less than 2 miles away. Dropped car off at dealer a little bit ago. A couple things I noticed. Car made no noise and got there fine. I do have a wrench light and check engine light now and car is making zero boost along with the transmission problems. The entire power train is acting up now.

I started a new thread over in tsb recall section since this seems to be an issue with many apparently since the valve they say they need to order is on national backorder. I guess since I didn't see many posts yet, majority of folks with issue didn't find this site yet, lol
